Pours two fingers of tan head on a black body.
The aroma is cocoa, roasted malt and
The taste has a sharp bitterness upfront, a little cream in the background, burnt wood.
The texture is crisp with fizzy.
The smell was nice, the taste tended towards the bitterness too much for me.

Poured into a Reuben's Brew snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a healthy two finger light brown head with good retention and thick lacing. Nice aroma of dark toasted malt and good dark chocolate. Flavor is light toasted malt with a hint of char, day old coffee and a hint of chocolate, slightly attenuated. Medium bodied. The flavor is good for a porter, but the aroma was preparing me for a heavier stout, so I was expecting more from the flavor. Having retuned my taste for American porter, this did hit all the right notes, with a nice lightly charred toasted malt and light coffee and hints of chocolate. A good porter that perhaps could have had a bit more heavy duty malt body. Good but not great.
