22oz bottle poured into a large snifter. Date on the bottle is 7-16-14 -- my son's 1st birthday! Hopefully that's the bottled on date, not the best by date. Several inches left in the bottle for the initial pour, so any sediment is likely still in the bottle.

Pours clear golden with a slight coppery hue, big white head that fades halfway quickly, and then slows down, lots of fine carbonation. Smell is nice -- floral and fruity, juicy/tropical, grassy, a little pine.

Taste is bitter with a flowery sweetness. Bitterness builds, but the sweetness is fleeting. Sharp grapefruit rind and a little pine, I think is the primary bitterness. Sweetness I think falls under the tropical fruit category. Not bad.

Mouthfeel is very creamy, and slightly oily. Overall, this is pretty good, and I might have to keep my eye out for this (new to me) brewery.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a hazy orangey copper amber with a two finger off-white head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of light caramel malt, resiny, yeah dank hops and a hint of citrus. Flavor follows, starting with a nice semi-sweet caramel malt with rapidly building, but not intense piney, dank hops. Finishes with almost mild hops, but the resinous piney flavors actually start to build after the taste is over, lingering for quite a while. Medium bodied with some creaminess. This is a sneaky IIPA, announces the dank, piney hops in the aroma, but almost seems moderately mild on drinking and then blitzing the tongue with a nicely balanced resinous, dank hop bitterness mostly after tasting. Delivers what it advertises. I like the malt body to this one better than the last Heathen IPA I tried. Liked this a lot. These guys seem to have released a lot of different IPAs at once, which seems odd, but I'll be trying them all after this one.
