Hops are present, but well balanced. A go to for a extremely clean IPA that doesn't have a bite on the finish.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a one finger ivory head with good retention and lots of lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, citrus and light piney hops and light tropical fruit. Flavor is pale malt, a mixture of citrus and grassy hops, citrus rind; finishes with lingering citrus, grassy hops bitterness with hints of resin. Great medium creamy body with an excellent mouth feel. A surprisingly heavy, but neutral flavored malt body supports a pleasant mixture of hop flavors, leaning to citrus. Not as herbally hop forward as many Northwest IPAs with a better balance of malt and hops, but with a good hop bitterness kick to the finish. A nice change of pace and good sipper.

First let me say this beer is simply amazing!!! The color of Reds slowly mingled into a nice amber color. Smell is awesome, very aromatic, hoppy smell with citrus intonations. Flavor has citrus tones of sweetness ending in a fantastic bitterness dance on your tongue. Mouth feel is not overly thick but definitely not a thinned out beer. Flavor lasts a little while in your mouth but without leaving behind the residue kind of taste. Over all at this moment in 2013 this is in my Top 5 beers. ENJOY ONE TODAY!!! IF YOUR AN IPA LOVER!!!

Pours a bright orange color with a small white head.

Aromas are of hard candies, sugary citrus, and some pine resin.

Taste starts out slightly sweet, creamy, with some hard candy flavors. Finish is hoppy, but not overly so, some citrus, pine, and resin. Slightly dry and nicely balanced.

Mouthfeel is smooth, with good body, carbonation lacks a bit but I suspect that's because the growler fill is from about a week ago, so I can't knock that.

Overall, a very solid and easy drinking IPA. Would be happy to try some other beers from this small Vancouver brewery.

On tap at Bier Stein the other day.

The beer pours an orange amber color with good head retention and considerable sticky lacing all around. The beer is every bit as impressive on the nose, as there is considerable pine in this beer, along with some underlying orange citrus and light tropical fruit. The flavor profile replciates the nose pretty closely, with the light tropical fruit and citrus balancing the pine and considerable bitterness very nicely. Mouthfeel is medium bodied I'd say, with a long, well bittered finish. Alcohol is very well integrated into the flavor profile, and this beer is very easy to drink and appreciate.

A very nice beer from this new to me brewery.

I would consider this a summer IPA, not to hoppy and easy to drink.

Look is on the darker side for an IPA.

Nose has caramel, toffee type notes along with dried or ripe fruit type notes

Hop profile is very nice. Rich berry like notes. Quite juicy. There's also this dank herbal quality to it that I personally don't like

Malt is on the heavier sweeter richer side. Too dark for me and I dont think it really fits the hops

Pours a murky amber. Minimal head settles quickly.

Nose is sweet and grainy. Some bubblegum and grassy hops with richer malts swirling beneath. Eh.
Taste has that same sweet grainy thread that anchors it. Some floral hops and a detached pine bitterness. Finish turns grainy then hints towards meatier hops before settling for a 6-10 season of 'moral victories'
I feel like this is a beer that really never establishes an identity. If they'd gone just a bit smaller than maybe you could nudge it into the 'session' buzzword of late, but as it is it's just kind of... there. I suppose if I'd read the label flavour text I'd have realized they classify it themselves as a gateway beer for non hop fans. I could see that, but I wish I'd seen it earlier and adjusted my expectations accordingly.

A - Amber/Golden orange. Light head retention, and what seems like low carbonation. Clear, with a little chill haze.

S - Strong citrus notes in this one. Citra/Simcoe come across very big with grapefruit, lemongrass, orange, with a tangy pine. Lots of floral notes.

T/M - Don't let the head fool you. It's very crisp and bubbly with a silky medium body mouthfeel. Extremely balanced for an IPA coming out of the NW - not too big and over the top. Clean yeast character with a balance of hops and malt. Seems much larger than 55 IBUs.

O- Drink this as fresh as you can. Growlers of this will be good in the same night, but not much after. Draught is the best bet. Balanced, extremely pleasant to drink, and enough of an IPA you could have with a meal without it stealing the show.
