Handsome orange amber with plenty of low but swirly foam in the Kasteel chalice. The aroma is melon and green mango salad, if you've been to a Thai place lately. Sudsy and pleasant mouthfeel. Actually it's extremely drinkable, even as I try to find fault with the stuff. Not overly sharp, which is a good thing for a hoppy brew, but nicely tangy.
Plenty sweet, and if it was a little stronger it would make a delicious DIPA. The usual light malt flavor with the fruity delirium. This is my favorite Heathen brew yet. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham, which seems to keep a good variety of Heathens. "Drink fresh!" the label says but I don't see any "bottled on" date.

Pours a murky amber. Minimal head settles quickly.
Nose is sweet and grainy. Some bubblegum and grassy hops with richer malts swirling beneath. Eh.
Taste has that same sweet grainy thread that anchors it. Some floral hops and a detached pine bitterness. Finish turns grainy then hints towards meatier hops before settling for a 6-10 season of 'moral victories'
I feel like this is a beer that really never establishes an identity. If they'd gone just a bit smaller than maybe you could nudge it into the 'session' buzzword of late, but as it is it's just kind of... there. I suppose if I'd read the label flavour text I'd have realized they classify it themselves as a gateway beer for non hop fans. I could see that, but I wish I'd seen it earlier and adjusted my expectations accordingly.

Look is on the darker side for an IPA.
Nose has caramel, toffee type notes along with dried or ripe fruit type notes
Hop profile is very nice. Rich berry like notes. Quite juicy. There's also this dank herbal quality to it that I personally don't like
Malt is on the heavier sweeter richer side. Too dark for me and I dont think it really fits the hops

I bought a bottle of Transcend IPA in a bottle shop. Poured in to a pint glass
Pours a shiny copper/gold color, clear with a creamy white head.
Smell is a sour aroma like dandelion leaves.
Taste is a pine and grapefruit flavor with a mild caramel malt flavor along side.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly cloying.
Overall a nice IPA
