On tap at The Refuge, THE Woodlands, TX
L: Not much head but this is a good pour. You can see a bit of lacing. Pretty solid deep amber, you cannot see through it.
S: Orange and honey nose, quite assertive.
T: Follows nose. Really nice citrus and sweetness mitigated by piney bittering hopping. Chewy yeasty malt backbone.
F: Medium body and a bit of carbonation. Construction and balance are solid.
O: This is a very good braggot. They should brag about this braggot.

On-draught at the Draughthouse Pub & Brewery in Austin, TX. Reviewed from notes taken in Fall 2014.
HEAD: 1 finger worth of head, White in colour. Nice softness, creaminess, and thickness. Pretty good (~4-5 minute) retention. No lacing adheres to the sides of the glass as the head recedes.
BODY: Vibrant translucent copper colour with gold hues. Clean; no yeast/lees/sediment is visible within.
Appears well-carbonated. A good looking braggot.
AROMA: Great hop profile - floral notes, sticky fruity juicy hops, heavy nectar, flowery and sappy notes, mango, peach. Pale, Munich, and honey malts balance out any bitterness. Pleasantly sweet and mead-evocative, with plenty of honey flavour.
Pleasant and appealing. Aromatic intensity is moderate.
Clean, lacking any dirty yeasty aromatics. No off-notes or alcohol is detectable.
TASTE: The honey/mead foundation fits well with the pale malt, honey malt, and Munich malt base. The hop profile is quite pleasant, bringing all the flavours the aroma suggested. Pleasantly sweet and nectary.
An even, cohesive blend of mead and beer. Balanced if a bit simple for a braggot. Quite enioyable in spite of being on the shallow side.
Average flavour duration and intensity. Some alcohol warmth is noticeable, unfortunately.
I find no overt yeasty flavours or off-flavours.
TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, soft, medium to full-bodied, thick, coating, and well (if a bit over) carbonated.
This texture suits the taste generally well, but it doesn't elevate the beer as a whole or accentuate specific notes. A sticker mouthfeel might play better with the honey.
OVERALL: It's a nice braggot, but it isn't up there with the best expressions of the style. I might nab it again if I see it, but it's not world class fare by any stretch. Well worth trying, and it's nice to see a Texas brewery doing a braggot.

25.4 oz. bomber poured into nonic
L: light yellow, 100% crystal clear, pushes up about 1-inch head of white foam that sticks a little; loads of bubbles rise in the glass producing a full skin and thick collar; very light color, almost with a greenish hue; stunning; no major lacing but still beautiful
S: bread malt, honey, American hoppy orange and floral ... very sweet ... as it pours, it creates a dessert-wine cloud that is both sweet and strong, a wine-alcohol note; apricot
T: honey-coated citrusy hops ... candied orange; bread malt; flowers ... like a flowery air freshener condensed into flavor, not bitter; a big swallow has a slight medicinal/rubbing alcohol note, but in sips, the 10% ABV is well hidden; apple, sweet apple cider; apricot; slight earthiness builds up over time, and it begins tasting more and more like a medium-dry white wine, tart but sweet grapes
F: midweight with a midrange level of carbonation that allows for a constant ale softness
O: another great brew from Lone Pint; the hops give it a great balance of flavors and stamp it as "beer", not just honey-wine mead, and keep it from becoming too sweet

Poured at 46°F from a 750ml bottle into a snifter. Consumed on 17Feb16.
LOOK: Pours with a half fingers worth of white foam that shrivels down into a line within 35 seconds. Dark gold in color with an extreme amount of cloudiness. Rising bubbles are medium in size and subtle in quantity. Lacing is thin and subtle.
SMELL: Very strong aromas of peaches, nectarines, and apricots entangle with mild aromas of bittersweet honey and subtle bread, grapefruit, orange, tangerine, fig, and plum aromas.
TASTE: Strong flavors of apricot, peach, and nectarine first strike the palate and are immediately followed by mild bitter hop flavors. Mild bittersweet honey and subtle bread flavors further unravel the taste profile. Subtle orange, grapefruit, and tangerine flavors, along with hints of figs and plums enter lastly as all previous flavors persist, except for honey, which grow slightly stronger.
FEEL: Full-bodied and highly carbonated. Goes down rough due to the carbonation. Finishes with a mild dryness.

This is a fun one! Had it draft poured into a snifter. A light cloudy yellow with an herbal sweet smell. Not much of a head or lacing. A crisp lemony taste, very fruit and pleasant. It is very refreshing!
