I am originally from England and since moving to the States my husband who is from here has fallen in love with Hobgoblin beer. It has taken me so long to find it and when I did, I just had to buy some. This is a great store with knowledgable staff and was able to tell me of certain events that go on and when they get their deliveries.

Best selection of beer in the area that I know of. Very friendly and helpful staff/owner(s). Their Facebook page is updated regularly; more so than the website it appears.

Good mix of locals, imports, regionals but nothing out of this world. Sometimes you can stop by and find some good things but it's probably one of the best beer stores in the area. Home brew supplies as well.

My ratings are all relative to the market. In a baron desert of beer that is the Shreveport/Bossier market, this shop stands out. Not only do they put the love of beer above profits to select their inventory, they actually step over the line to get some of their beer. I know this because my wife works for a distributor in this market, and knows ALL of the limited beer that is allowed to be distributed here. This place tests that, and finds its own ways of getting beers that they are not technically supposed to sell. So when you are in this shop, and are from a DIFFERENT area, just remember that this place has crossed a local line...despite how limited the selection might seem to an outsider. Shreveport is a place to discover new steak, not new beer. If you love beer and have to be in Shreveport, this place is a destination you will want to program in your GPS, or your trip will be a baron desert of craft beer...sifting thru a macro empire.

A: Just a small bottle shop/homebrew store.
Q: This seems to overlap with selection, but the quality of stuff they have is pretty good. They have some big names as well as some of the smaller breweries with limited distro.
Service: Great service, both visits I've been one of a few visitors and they're always willing to offer help.
Selection: Probably the best I've seen in Shreveport/Bossier. The staff/owner seem to be passionate about beer so they seek out some good stuff. They got Billionaire and Luchador en Fuego from Clown Shoes
F: No food unless I felt like munching on some grains or eating some yeast
V: Pricing is very reasonable and not out of line for their products so you don't have to worry about walking out and feeling cheated.

Checked this place out recently. Nice selection for Shreveport. Seems like a lot more variety than it actually is, but they have some good stuff. Employee was cool and helpful which is always nice. They had all of the bigger stuff that you'd expect to be available in this area, and even some cooler lesser known stuff. Not a bad place at all.

Brewniverse is a somewhat small store that sells retail bottles and home brew supplies. They make excellent use of the space and provide an impressive amount of bottled beer and home brew supplies. The distribution in north Louisiana compared to south Louisiana can be like night and day, but they stock as much quality offerings that they can get their hands on: Locals such as Abita, Tin Roof, NOLA, ECt. Southern Star, New Belgium, Clown Shoes, Slumbrew, High and Mighty, St. Somewhere, Sam Adams, North Coast, Anchor, Sierra Nevada, Widmer. Also have plenty of imports, good German brews, Belgian, and ECt. Selection is great and sets the standard for Shreveport. The owners are also as courteous and helpful as can be. You can tell he's passionate about beer and loves to talk about it. Price was very inexpensive; going to another bottle shop afterwards, I saw many bottles were significantly pricier than that of Brewniverse. All in all, Brewniverse is exactly what Shreveport has needed and is a must stop if you're in the area.

I heard about Brewniverse from a friend, and so I thought I would make a visit.

This is a relatively new shop in Shreveport. They do not have their liquor license yet (only beer), so, the Louisiana laws won't allow them to sell anything above 6% abv. They tell me the paperwork is in, and they are waiting for State approval.

Anyhow, they do have a nice selection for NW Louisiana. All the usuals from Abita, Covington, Tin Roof, Bayou Teche, and Spoetzl. All the usuals from Sam Adams as well.

They have a good selection of German imports (Franziskaner, Weihenstephaner, Paulaner, Bitburger, Erdinger Weiss, etc). The Franziskaner born-on date was Aug12, so, reasonably fresh. Also some UK imports, London Pride, Samuel Smith, etc.

They have a few Cali beers, SN Pale ale, Porter, Stout, and Kellerweis. An assortment from Anchor, and a few from Bear Republic. Also, a few Belgium beers. They tell me they expect to carry an assortment from New Belgium soon, as well as Chimay.

The place is a little small, so that does limit the selection. But for Shreveport, it really is a breath of fresh air, or should I say fresh beer. I will stop in again.

p.s. I forgot to mention, they have a complete supply of home brew items, books, equipment.
