Growler delivered a few hours ago by Brew Donkey. Check 'em out.
A - Pours bright and golden. Mild carbonation. Pillowy off white head of two fingers on top. Wicked spatterings of lace and a film of retention throughout.
S - Initial pine leads to sticky citrus character. Mango, pineapple. Syrupy fruits. Honey. Nice. Centennial shows a bit.
T - Grassy, citrus, soapy, some honey. Soapiness really comes through, perhaps from the El Dorado? Almost candy-esque flavours combined with fruit. Lemon or orange.
M - Pretty good bitterness. Good carbonation, not too strong, medium to full body.
O/D - While I enjoyed this, I'll admit that the soapy quality turned me off a bit. Descriptions of El Dorado are correct in suggesting a candy-like quality as well. All in all, this was a good IPA that I had no problem finishing from the local boys that are currently the kings of the Ottawa beer scene. With a malt body kept in check to let the hops shine, they seem to know what they want to do and are experimenting as much as possible. I will always welcome a pint from BTP.
