Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a medium size dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of strong bourbon notes with woody notes and dry roasted malt notes also noticeable. Taste is also dominated by strong bourbon notes with some woody notes and dry roasted malt with light cacao notes. Body is full enough with good carbonation and light warming alcohol notes. Barrel-aging notes are more than dominant and kind of veered close to astringency territory.

Pours dark black with a short but creamy mocha head with decent retention but not much lacing. The nose is big dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, cocoa nibs. On the palate, it is very similar with lots of dark roasted malt and bakers chocolate but with some over-brewed coffee, char and subtle bourbon notes. It finishes very dry, almost astringent (over barreled? over hopped?). The mouthfeel is full and round but still very easy drinking.

My bottle was a short fill so consider that in this review.
A - Pours black, duh. Good two finger mocha head. Quite a dense head up top and some decent carbonation. Good lace rings and a film of retention.
S - Heavy bourbon, vanilla, wood, chocolate, leather.
T - Bourbon comes out way more in the finish. Wood, vanilla, and chocolate more in the middle. Sweetness to finish too.
M - Good bitterness to finish with a mild but pleasant carbonation and a medium to full body.
O/D - This shows a good element of bourbon as well as dry, roast malt. A good imperial stout with the addition of the barrel, making this quite enjoyable. Nothing too noticeable in terms of elements holding this back, just a well crafted stout with a nice barrel character. Well done.
