11.2 fl. oz. bottle poured into brand new tulip. best before 08.14.13.
A: super clear, super bright gold body. bright white head, bubbly. retention is good. plenty of carbonization rising to the surface. thick lager clumps of lacing left behind.
S: smells dry. plenty of pilsner malt is certainly detectable. not getting nearly any hop aromas which is a bit of a letdown. maybe im not looking hard enough, but even a Czech pils should have some hop aroma.
T: mostly grain. there is certainly some earthy/tangy bitterness, but it is not lasting. lots of cereal. a slight metallic/acidic note towards the finish, however vanishes to a cheerio-like finish.
M: moderate amount of carb. a little less than your typical European blond lager. light bodied.
D: tons of drinkability. even with my complaints, still found this a pleasant easy drinking lager. cool to have "budvar" in the states.
