This is one of those brews that brings back memories. While stationed in Germany, the Fighter Squadron (525 Bulldogs) would go to an sle off of Italy (Sardinia (sp) to the Italian Air Base Decimomono(sp). Being a NATO base, we would hit up the German BX and buy cases of this.
A Deep gold color with a nice white head. The head stayed for a spell and faded to a thin lace. Aroma is of grass and wet hay. Mild tones of malt and spices do blend in. Taste is a dead match of the aroma. Dry and crisp grassy tones and a bitter dry finish. Nothing flashy but solid
This is a solid AVERAGE brew. Yes I said average. There are better of the style out there.

Pale gold with a vanishingly brief head.
Aroma of vegetal, grassy hops and doughy pale malt.
Crisp, off-dry and slightly tart, with brisk grassy noble hops over a soft crackery pils malt base. Clean, simple, and refreshing, with no flaws. Very slight hint of sulfur in the background.
Feather-light and almost watery, emphasis here is on drinkability.
Overall, a fine quaffable pilsner. Apparently over-hyped, perhaps owing to its name conflict with the fizzy American swill, but leaving all that aside it's still a quite nice pale lager in its own right.
