A very well balanced taste with floral citrus and piney hops that do not obliterate a basic malt sweetness. Not generally a fan of double IPAs this is one I could drink more than one of.

On tap:
Pours a coppery gold color, with small bubbled head. The pour is clear and sustaining bubbles can be viewed rising to leave spotty surface head. Some lacing occurs. The nose is a bit malty, hints of honey biscuit, some sweet melon notes, but nothing that is very strong or stands out here at the bar.

The taste does start a bit honey sweet but with some tropical notes. Again the flavors are a bit muddled, but I get some tangerine or mandarin orange notes. Carbonation hits up front but dies off quickly, smoothing the feel before the middle tastes take over. The sweetness fades in the mid taste as the dry, piney hops come on. They never kill the malt notes, but move them to the back. The malts also prevent the green-tasting hops from making a strong punch to your palate. The end taste does price the malts hold on, and there is some risidual oily tropical notes as the taste fades.

Little sweet on the malt, but the play between sweet and bitter is interesting. A very solid beer, but not exceptional, and I won't shy away from it in the future.
