Brewed with imported Belgian malts and a blend of exotic spices, BJ's Grand Cru has a malty character with a whirlwind of fruit and spice flavors. First brewed to celebrate the new millennium, BJ's Grand Cru has been a seasonal tradition ever since. This Belgian-stlye amber ale is bottle-conditioned and flavorful enough to age in the bottle for many years. Like a fine wine, the beer will change over time as some flavors mellow while others become more pronounced. For optimal aging, we recommend that you store BJ's Grand Cru for at least one year at between 55 and 65°F. Or enjoy it now!

Tried the 24th annual on tap. Nice clear amber color with a small white head. Sweet and Christmas spice taste with a long finish. Not much alcohol feel despite 10% ABV. General flavors are thinner than I typically expect from a Belgian Pale.

Pours golden yellow with slight white cap. Notes of cloves and spice with sweet malty Belgium finish. Good Belgium style pale strong ale at 10% ABV in to go growler from our local BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse. Nice seasonal strong ale!

Found a bottle of the 2013-2014 Annual. Openedit and it poured a lovely clear amber with a modest head, soon reducing to a thin layer. In the nose, it is alcohol and a bit of spice. In the mouth, it shows that it ages well: smooth feel, alcohol, malt and spice. Wow!

Someone should probably split this beer because it is an annual release. I've had previous years and frankly didn't care for them. They got it right with the 2019 20th annual Grand Cru, though. Great rich malt flavor with a nice balance of spices- allspice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. It is sweet like some old ales but not too much. I'm going back for more.

My wife and LOVED the 2016/2017 batches at the BJ's in Longview TX. This is our favorite beer and I hope I can replicate it at home! A lot of the reviewers here probably only like lagers, so this would be way off for their taste profile.

It’s very sweet! The beer has a very heavy feel to it and a flavor that hangs for a long time. I feel like it’s almost to much of a “soft drink” feel to it... I wouldn’t say no if someone bought for me but I wouldn’t buy again.

On tap at local BJ'S restaurant...good beer, but not great...smooth balanced taste but not one of my go to beers. One thing I like is that even though it is 10% ABV, it doesn't hit you with a heavy alcohol taste.

The 2016 batch I drank at the Hurst,TX restaurant was exceptional. Last year it had a banana flavor to it and was disappointing from previous years. They made up for it this year and my table got the last of it 30 Dec.
Finally. They have a Bourbon Barrel Aged and Peticola's Wintervention on draft. I couldn't quit the Gran Cru it was amazing this year! "ATTABOY'S" to the brewers!!
