A Silver Medal winner in Strong Ales at the 1996 Great American Beer Festival. This Irish-style strong ale is brewed with a secret blend of five imported specialty malts. Not too hoppy in order to emphasize the complex malt flavor and fruity aroma.

16 ounce draft pour into a Pilsner-ish glass.
L: Coppery red, some haze, very little off-white foam, looks like the server did their best to snuff out the head.
S: Caramel and toasted malt, fruity esters.
T: Malt forward and sweet, caramel malt, some nutty and fruity flavors.
F: Medium-weight, crisp around a somewhat creamy body.
O: Definitely a strong example, nice malt character.

Pours a dark copper color with a foamy head that lasts a quite a while. Aroma of roasted malts. Taste is spicy with a hint of caramel. Crisp and dry.

L - Poured from draft into a Pilsner glass. Amber red color. Bartender poured out the head. Has a light film of bubbles on top.
S - Malt-forward sweet scents. Some metal/copper scents.
T - Taste follows scent with caramel type malts. Some deeper nutty flavors. Slight hop that appears near the finish.
F - Good full and creamy mouthfeel. Nice carbonation level.
O - Very good straightforward beer. This is my first choice when I go to BJ’s Brewhouse. I recommend it to anyone.

Pours amber haze with slight foamy cap with little carbonization. Notes of brown sugar and molasses give this a nice malty base when you (or your guest) prefer an Irish red ale (to avoid my go to IPA hop). Really good local BJ’s brew on tap and growler to go. Decent ABV at 7.3%.

Just a stronger version of Killians, this will always be my base for amber brews. This is a good one and a refreshing one, I will be enjoying future six packs of this beer!
