A-dark brown, a lot of tan head, waterfall effect
S-very sweet smelling. molasses is noticeable but not strong, fairly disappointing for a porter.
T-very watery with some chocolate hints in the after-taste. more of a stout than porter. this is one disappointing beer
M-just watery all the way through, very low carbonation
D-as bad as it is, the drinkability for some reason could be worse. its not completely disgusting and once you get past the fact its a sad beer, it can go down easily

On tap at the Plano, Texas location.
The beer pour a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma has some chocolate and roasted malt notes, as well as some light smoke. The smoke is more intense in the flavor, where there is also some chocolate and roasted malt notes. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Enjoyed on tap at the Glendale location. Opaque black with a white head, thick, lacey. Subtle roast aroma.Creamy coffee makes this a good mouthfeel, and brings out the coffee an the graininess. Mollasses and chocolate as well. This batch rated 6.4% abv.

Consumed at the Canoga Park BJ's.
Appearance- Body is deep, dark, opaque dark brown or black. Looks blacker than Bill Gate's heart. The head is afrothy, long lasting light brown that leaves behind a very nice lacing.
Aroma- The aroma is predominately roasted coffee with a bit of astringent roast malt and just a hint of dark chocolate. Of course, no hoppy aroma.
Taste- Lots of roasted malt with coffee over-tones. Some malt sweetness hiding in the back, but you really have to look for it. It also has a light taste of dark chocolate. The taste really is quite good.
Mouthfeel- Body is rather heavy. the carbonation is very tight. This combiniation gives you a very nice creaminess that makes it very smooth to drink. The mouthfeel alone makes this beer worth trying.
Drinkability- This is really well done and again is a very impressive beer. It's not the best porter I've had, but it's likely the best porter you're likely to find on tap outside of the UK.

This beer is a dark brown color with ruby highlights around the edges. Has a nitro-creamy light beige head with excellent lacing and retention.
I smell dried moss, peat, unsweetened chocolate and cocoa powder. Nose is pretty sparse, but fresh.
Earthy, peaty and chocolate flavors abound! Somewhat watery and thin. Was not too sure of this one after a sip or two, but it seems to be growing on me quite a bit. A decent beer, worth trying when making a visit to BJ's.

This beer is first thought to be so dark its black, but on further inspection it is actully a very deep amber. The head is white and frothy, and the mouth feel is smooth. I like this beer mainly because it's after taste is much more mild than most porter's I have tried. As far as drinkability, this is will be on my list to continue to enjoy.

this is a beer that made me start to love beer. it is nice to now come back after I have developed my taste.
poured a dark brow with intense ruby highlights. amazing creamy one finger tan head. lacing is unbelievable. the lacing hangs on like a damn titanic survivor.
smell is rich and malty. full of coffee goodness and hints of chocolate.
taste is awesome. a very full flavored beer. rich roasted coffee and malts. rich, creamy.
mouthfeel=sexy. very smooth. to the point of being silky. medium carbonation. awesome beer.
as an experement I just pounded back one, there was a thick lacing from top to bottom of the glass that reminded me of a milkshake. great beer

This might be my favorite of the B.J's brews. very dark brown with a reddish tint. A very dense head that retained well and left loads of lace around my pint glass. it had a sweet roasted smell. The taste was of sweet coffee and roasted malts along with the usual chocolate flavors. the finish was dry with hint of bitterness.

Had on tap at the BJ's in El Paso, TX.
A: Served avertually black with a good two finger head that lasted quite a while and lots of lacing throughout.
S; Has a mild roasted malt aroma with a good bit of sweetness mixed in.
T: Taste is a mixture of coffee, toffee and a hint of chocolate. Fairly clean finish.
F: Full body, very cream and smooth. Very well balanced.Goes down very easy.
O: Excellent porter. At first I thought they had served me the Stout by mistake. This is a lot more enjoyable than than most of the beers they serve. Well worth a try.

Brought to the table with a nice 1/2 inch head to go with a dark, creamy looking body. Smells of roasted or chocolate malt with just the slightest hop aroma. Tastes mostly of dark malts. Mouthfeel is a little lighter than I expected, perhaps due to the nitro tap. Drinkability was fair.
