650 ml bottled on 2-20-14. Sampled on June 14, 2014. Happy Flag Day!

The pour is a deep dark brown to practically black. In lower light it looks jet black. Big tan head that slowly dissipates but leaves nice lacing clinging to the glass.

Aroma of roasted dark malts and chocolate milk. Hops are subtle on the nose but wait a minute.

Full body that is also creamy and smooth. Chewable to my heart's content.

The taste begins with a solid dark roasted malt and chocolate character like the nose. Ta-Dah! There are those hops I told you to wait for! Mild to moderate dry bitterness at the end. Lip-smacking delight here.

Bottle from Candia Road.
Pours a solid black with a smallish bubbly tan head that requires a vigorous pour to muster. Aromas of rich creamy chocolate and an earthy roast bite. Light bits of dark fruit and faint earthy hop round out the aroma. Sweet rich chocolate and roast with hints of vanilla fruit and earth. Lingering sweet chocolate a roasted grain bite long after each sip has passed. Medium body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a creamy silky smooth mouthfeel. Wow that is a really good milk stout! Rich sweet roasty creamy I might have to throw that one into the rotation.

Poured into a 16 oz snifter, bottled on 2/20/14 with an ABV of 8%. Pours a slick black with a 3 inch tan head, that leaves webs of lace behind.

Smell is dark chocolate, vanilla, molasses, leather, tobacco, biscuit, licorice, smoke, and coffee.

Taste follows the nose nicely, lots of dark chocolate, with smoky leather tobacco, and roast vanilla coffee finishing.

Body is medium, nice amount of life, a little dry, and east drinking for its size.

Overall this is a very complex stout, with so many flavors, far from a one trick pony.
