On-tap 12/12/2012 at Track 84, in Warwick, RI served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep dark brown color, with a short dense beige head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma is faint but contains roasted malts, coffee, some chocolate and a touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out with a hearty but not too heavy roasted malt character, which is on the lighter side for the style. Then some flavors of coffee and chocolate come in. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Smooth and a little crisp, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is dry and slightly sticky.
O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, decent kick, good representation of style, this is a solider lighter than average porter to drink for a while.

Tasted at the brewery
Dark, dark brown where no light shines through. Good head that lasts throughout the tasting but little lace.
Coffee and chocolate malt aromas. There's a touch of medicinal band-aide unfortunately.
The flavor is a step up from the smell. Plenty of cocoa and mild coffee in the initial taste. Dark chocolate aftertaste. Good body and carbonation.

Dark and coffee like in appearance.
It has a subtle smell with coffee and chocolate notes.
A very rich taste with lots of chocolate and coffee, mild vanilla taste. Bitter finish.
It has a very smooth mouthfeel and is not very heavy.
Overall, this isn't my cup of tea. The taste is a little too rich and bitter.
