A big, hoppy IPA with plenty of bite! Our assertive, hop-centric Double IPA has a lean malt backdrop and is brewed with four American hop varieties – Summit, Palisade, Cascade and Magnum. Piney, citrus, floral, not-for-the-timid!

Received this on a trade and man is it good! I have no idea why the ratings are so low on this one (when did low mean high 80s, oh well, so it is!).

Appearance: Looks like apple juice, I am changing up my description nice light foamy head lays upon the top as you drink through it. Fairly clear but has a nice reddish gold hue to it.

Aroma: Pretty light but nice tropical fruits and hops are the dominant flavor profile. This one smells like a lot of highly rated beers but is probably much easier to get. I still don't get the lower ratings.

Taste: Nice tropical hops, smooth taste, very reminiscent of Jai Alai or some of those that are more juicy and balanced than bruising hop bitterness.

Overall: I still cannot figure out the lower ratings, this is a very solid beer and I greatly appreciate the opportunity to try it. The photo shows a bottle but this one came in a tallboy can! Love that!

Quite possibly the best IPA I've ever had. A must try.

Poured from the 12 oz bottle into a stemmed tulip.
Pours a clear medium amber color with 1.5 fingers of head.
Smells insane. Huge hoppiness in the nose with tons of tropical fruit.
Taste is delicious. Tons of fruit, sweetness, good bitterness that lingers. A good deal of malt that is reminiscent of west coast IPA, but this has way more hop profile.
Finishes a bit sweet from the malt.
This beer I feel is underrated on BA. This is delicious.

Looks good, smells great but stop right there. I expect to be overwhelmed by Hoppy heaveness, but it just wasn't there.it is a good beer, better than average.

Had on draft at Ciro's in Woonsocket, RI. Tried the new Two Roads offering last night loved the amberish color and nice aroma. Nothing overpowering, tasted a lot of hops up front but hops were balanced some malty mouth feel it was an above average beer and very solid offering, I can't believe how CT beers are starting to evolve and become first class offerings. Two Roads is a great new brewery and looks like the beer matches the crafty names and creative labeling. It had one flaw in it's bitterness didn't seem to match it's hop profile but that's just me being picky.

From a small grower I filled from a fresh and local keg a few hours ago....

Pours hazed almond amber, sturdy light tan head, stays forever and leaves rich sheeting and fields of frothy stick.

Resin, pine, leafy hops on the nose

Citric hops in place, plentiful grapefruit, lime, and pepper, over a base flavor profile of resiny and quite dry hops. Rich layers of hoppy goodness. This is a very solid DIPA. Nice to try a brew from one of Connicticut's newer breweries.

Had on tap at their tasting room.

Appearance: One inch head, amber in color, clear, low carbonation

Smell: citrus hops and toasted malt

Taste: sweet biscuit and caramel start, citrus hops dominate the middle with piney hops jumping in at the end.

Mouthfeel: sweet start with a bitter middle and a less bitter end, light bodied, medium, carbonation

Overall:This one packs a punch. A solid double IPA. I kind of see Troeg's Nugget Nectar as comparable to this although it has been several months since I last had one. This is a good a juicy double IPA. I would get this again.

Clear apricot colored with an inch high head of rocky beige foam that leaves craters and lingers long. Inviting aroma of tangerine and red grapefruit, slight orange rind note. Bright flavor of citrusy hops, orange rind pith, tangerine, and pine. Great citrusy hops flavors all around. Moderate to sharp bitterness, good balance to the honied malt flavors riding beneath, but make no mistake - this one's all about the hops. Moderate mouthfeel, slightly dry, piney finish. Great beer.

Very piney and overly abrasive IPA. Enamel remover and really not a pleasant hop blend. Found it too big with all hop punch and little balance. Could not drink much of this but perhaps preferred by those who really like big pungent piney dub IPAs. Miss for me.

It's a great looking beer and smells nice, too. But when you drink it the hops just aren't as much as expected. It reminds me a lot of Sixpoint's Resin. All body and malt but no hops, there is a slight hop note in the back that is herbal and piney but that's it. It also feels heavier than 8%, too, which is not a good thing. A nice fall/winter beer but more of a slightly hoppy barleywine than a DIPA. Had this fresh in a 16oz can, too.
