A big, hoppy IPA with plenty of bite! Our assertive, hop-centric Double IPA has a lean malt backdrop and is brewed with four American hop varieties – Summit, Palisade, Cascade and Magnum. Piney, citrus, floral, not-for-the-timid!

A tasty DIPA. Fresh, this beer has a nice hoppy bite up front, but for my tastes too little fruit/malt tones on the back side. The beer is smooth but if you're looking for big, complex taste after the first gulp, I was unable to find it. The beer I drank was bottled on 12/18/2014, just about a month old.

A nice hoppy bite with a small "bite" at the end.
Strong hoppy aroma but doesn't taste as strong.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into Portsmouth brewery snifter.

The color is a hazy orange with three fingers if foamy white head and some nice lacing left on the glass.

The smell has a pleasant citrus flavor with some hints of tangerine. There is a green leafy aroma that is earthy with a grass-like aroma. The floral aroma comes out here and mixes well with a slight dough aroma.

The taste of this beer is sweet at first with a citrus flavor that turns into a earthy floral flavor. There is a tangerine flavor that leads into a flowery bread flavor. The bitterness is present but lays onto the taste buds with a scratchy wet hop flavor that holds the bitterness back from getting harsh at the end but let's it stay in the aftertaste and really finished things nicely.

The beer is medium bodied with a nice drinkable feel. There is a great smoothness to this beer since the bitterness seems to hold the flavor in instead of overpowering it and just becoming a bitter bomb.

Thin for a stout and very hoppy. Bold taste with a strong aftertaste. Very good.

Strong lemon peel aroma, good strong citrusy hops with a nice bitter kick at the end. Could have used a little more alcohol in the nose and flavor with the abv(7.8%). Otherwise, excellent.
