I was up to NYC a little over a month ago to visit the wondrous JenRay while she was in town for work and we happened upon several bottles at a Whole Foods Market where I picked up some of Two Roads' offerings.
From the bottle: "Pale Refreshing Farmhouse Style Ale"; "Traditional End-of-Day Reward"; "The Road Less Traveled"; "Dry Refreshing Farmhouse Style Ale"; "Saisons were originally created to compensate Belgian farm workers. Give your taste buds a raise with this pale and refreshing Saison made with a blend of harvest grains - barley, wheat, oats and rye."; "Here's to taking the road less traveled, in life and in beer!"
I began my pour in an aggro manner, but I had to quickly back off when a massive amount of head began to form, threatening to overflow my glass. I could only watch as it slowly settled into a massive, puffy two fingers of bone-white head with great retention. The beer itself looked like liquid sunshine (SRM = > 2, < 4) in the glass with just a mild chill haze. The total effect was that of lemon meringue pie. The nose smelled like Juicyfruit gum laced with black pepper! Very fruiy and yet very spicy at the same time. Mouthfeel was a little on the thin side, but man, the black pepper bite was immediate on the tongue. The fruitiness that I noted on the nose translated to more of a perfume-y flavor in the mouth, more flower than fruit. Finish was bone-dry with the peppery flavor really sucking the air out of my mouth. I will readily cop to being a hophead and as such, I usually disdain this style of beer, but in this case, I was really digging it. I think that the dry peppery aspect was what I really liked.

12oz stubby bottle
A) Pours with a finger thick head. Hazy straw colored body. Tight lacing at the edge of the glass and on the drink down.
S) Hints of clove, banana. Not overly aromatic.
T) Lemon. Subtle spices - Coriander, clove. Nutty, grainy finish.
M) Medium body. Creamy. Quite smooth.
O) A tasty saison. Very drinkable. I'd definitely have another one.

12 oz bottle was poured into a tulip.
Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a hazy golden yellow with vision of bubbles coming up through the glass.
Smell: Bready, vanilla, spicy, floral, powdery yeast, green apples, and a little citrus.
Taste: Same as above. A little sweeter than most saisons with some bitterness in the rear.
Mouthfeel: Spicy, medium to high carbonation, light bodied, a little chewy, and a little crisp.
Overall: A nice saison from the CT boys. This completed the six pack sampler from these guys.
