Style | ABV
German Pilsener |  5.00% ABV

Availability: Year-round

Notes/Commercial Description:
Traditional in concept with a Two Roads twist…dry hops. We use a combination of classic German as well as American hop and malt varieties in our Pils. We renovated a 100 year-old factory building and designed this Pils to have “extra” aroma…so, pardon the pun! Crisp…refreshing…refined.

3.5/5  rDev -5.1%
look: 3.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

Appearance: minimal head, low carbonation, gold in color, clear

Smell: earthy hops and grain

Taste: grain, grass, toasted malt, and citrus hop smack at the end

Mouthfeel: sweet start with a bitter middle and a more bitter smack at the end, medium-light carbonation, medium-light bodied

Overall: An above average hoppy but not overly hoppy German pils. If I am in the mood for the style, I would certainly get this. The dry hopping adds a refreshing element. That said there are others in the style I would get first.

12 oz. bottle at Six Main in Chester, Conn.

Appearance: Pours a hazy straw color with a big pillowy white head that sticks around for a long time. Lacing is heavy.

Aroma: Smells like biscuit, bubble gum, grassiness, hops, a little bit of lemon and maltiness. Nice, deep nose.

Taste: Pretty delicious pils. The taste more or less follows the nose and has a nice dry, hoppy character. I'm not normally a huge lager guy, but this is really good.

Mouthfeel: This quality is as it should be - easy drinking and light of body. Not watery like a crappy macro, but not thick and heavy, either.

Overall: Superb pilsener. Not a "big" beer, not a wacky beer, but a great beer. Those dudes down by the Sikorksy plant are on to something; I need to seek out more of their product.

a - Bottle picked up locally bottled mid February, enjoyed from a two roads snifter. Pours a transparent golden yellow with a generous frothy foamy head and some visible carbonation.

s - With a name pun like this one I expect big things from the nose and sadly nothing out of the ordinary, but fairly classic grain and pils malt. Some lemon and light floral notes.

t/m/o - Taste is classic pils with a nice medium bodied feel. Easy drinker and a great one for the warmer weather. Pils is not my fav style but I enjoyed this one.

Awesome caramel golden sips, visable carbonation, not too heady

Smells crisp and flavorful, definately a dry hopped brew

Tastes as good as it smells. The scent of this brew will not fail... such a fully dry hopped beautifully carbonated beer. Dry hopping the German hops really gave this beer an interesting, flavorful spin.
Crrisp as well as refreshing... everything you'd want from your pilsner+ a little more :)

On draft at The Lark, East Northport, NY.

Poured a light, clear brassy hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured a light grainy pilsner malt with a light herbal hop.

The taste consisted of a soft grainy sweetness with a faint herbal hop. A touch of diactyl detected as well.

The mouthfeel was typical of the style.

Overall a tasty, subtle pilsner.

A: The beer is clear light yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that gradually died down, leaving patches of bubbles on the surface, a thin ring around the edge of the glass, and some lacing down the sides.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of grassy hops are present in the nose.
T: The taste is also dominated by flavors of grassy hops, which contribute a light to moderate amount of bitterness, and also has underlying notes of bready malts.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this to be an enjoyable American version of a German-styled beer. It tasted a little hoppier compared to other beers in the German Pilsener style and the hop aromas and flavors seemed more resembling that of a Munich Helles Lager.

Appearence. Yellow, very bubbly, thin white head

Smell: very mild bread yeast, Lacked the dankness of lower quality beers.

Taste: the appearance, smell and taste could all be called those of a refined pilsner. Smooth, yeasty lager taste, but complimented with wonderful hopy bitterness and floral notes, that make this beer worlds apart from others of its category

mouthfeel: crisp, bubbly, light/ medium body.

Overall: stands out as a very good beer in a category in which very good is uncommon. If you are a picky beer drinker, but you need a break from IPA'S and stouts, and its warm outside, buy this beer.
