Bottled on 2/20/13

Clear copper colored with a beige head of thick foam that slowly settles out. Low aroma of toasted malt and fig.

Rich and malty flavor, subtle sweetness, offset with noticeable bitterness, but well-balanced. Flavors of toasted malt, fig, toffee, and a hint of leather.

Even mouthfeel, full and smooth, finishes tingly. Good representation of the style.

Poured from a 22oz brown bomber into a large weizen glass. Bottled on 02/04/14 on bottle neck. Purchased at Total Wine (Norwalk, CT).

A: Crystal-clear chestnut brown with dark amber edges and a big, 2-finger, foamy beige head with good retention and a lot of lacing at the top and bottom of the glass.

S: Dark caramel maltiness with light herbal hoppiness. Yeast esters are low but a little fruity. Alcohol is not evident in the nose.

T: The flavor is very good with a blend of dark malty raisin and fig with a light touch of roastiness and burnt caramel. Very clean with minimal to no yeast esters. Hops are pretty neutral but mainly earthy and light herbal. Alcohol is low.

M: Not heavy and mildly crisp with medium body with medium carbonation. Smooth and easy to drink.

O: Henry's Farm is a nice dopplebock and very clean and easy to drink with no booziness and a good caramel character.

Pours a honey brown color , a bit murky. The head is small and wispy, settles into a sparse cap.

The aroma is a touch doughy and meaty. Hints of smoke. Nice bock aroma. Simple but hits the mark.

The taste is of a slightly toasted malt with a hint of the doughy Munich malt. Light caramel and pepper. Some tea like notes. Lager like notes but lacking the double bock bang.

The feel is moderate with fizzy carbonation. Sweet on the palate but it's light and has enough of a bitter offset.

Slightly disappointed with this beer. Started off well but needs more of a beefy flavor.

Very interesting beer. Pours out a dark, reddish brown with a creamy white head. Really nice malt driven aroma with some raisins and toffee coming through.

Taste is much bigger than the nose. Candi sugar sweetness balances with a solid malt backbone. Alcohol does slightly come through but helps balance it out. Big toffee flavor with a raisin note that lingures for awhile.

Overall a solid and fun offering. ABV is high so be warned.
