Notes & Commercial Description:
Beer added by: Jason on 05-29-2013

Brewmaster Phil Markowski has taken a “bahn” less traveled to create our version of the classic Bavarian wheat brew –perfect for the warming temperatures. Beautifully cloudy with a generous head of foam, a wonderful fruit aroma and a dry finish, our Hefeweizen is a refreshing version of the original; with just a little bit more of everything.

Drawn from a tap in a local take-out burger joint. Nice and cloudy and light on the head. Good aroma. Goes down good but a small bitterness stays. All in all a keeper on my list.

Two finger fluffy white head. Golden body with a light haze. Coriander and banana like aroma. Sweet and bread like taste. Coriander and banana also in the taste. Light bitterness. Refreshing and has a mild tart finish. Thinner mouth feel compared to the traditional way for this style. I'd be happy to have this one again and again.

From 1 pint can, poured into tall glass. Hazy light orange thin head. Head disappeared pretty quick. Smelled strongly of bananas, then mellows out to mild fruitiness. Taste is mildly tart, light sweetness. Nothing interesting going on here. Mouthfeel was average at best. Not a good attempt at the style, but not terrible.

Decent hefeweizen. But not great.

One of the best hefeweizens I've had in quite some time. I'm stoked that Two Roads has a team of German engineers working for them, because it shows in beers like this one.
