The wife really wanted to go to the Pez factory in Connecticut, and I wanted to go to New England Brewing and the Yale University Art Gallery. So there we went, but after Pez I looked at the map and saw that Two Roads was only a couple of miles down the road, so there we went (I missed out on New England, which kind of sucks).

We were surprised at the sheer size of this new brewery. They’ve only been open two or three years and yet they already have a massive facility with one of the biggest tasting rooms/bars I’ve ever seen. They mean business!

The wraparound bar is about four miles long at least, but the service is pretty swift. You can also look at the brewery tanks behind big windows.

They have six year-round breweries on tap (IPA, DIPA, White IPA), a couple of seasonals (Oktoberfest) and some specialties (Russian Imp Stout). The beers are all “fine” but not outstanding. They’re doing it right, but they’re not doing great. The taps were a tad too cold…
We got a “growlito”, a 32-oz growler filled with their DIPA. Very reasonable prices for growler prices, nothing over $17 for 64 ounces.

Two Roads Brewing is a huge place that I was not expecting. 1 Minute off 95 so very easy to get to. Tasting Room is huge which is great since being packed in is never fun. It also overlooks the brewery behind glass windows so you can see what is going one while enjoying a cold beer. The Vats come right up to the second level which is built around them which is cool. 6 decent size samples for $9 so couldn't complain at all.

Visited the taproom recently and was very impressed by the size of the brewery's operations; their taproom alone is probably 3000sqft. The taproom is on the second floor overlooking the entire brewery below. Besides their own brews, Two Roads also contract brews for craft brewers, hence their size and capacity.

Adjacent to the taproom is a small shop with various merchandise (hats, shirts, coasters, bottle openers) and of course some of their bottled beers. They fill regular and half sized growlers as well, but it has to be one of their growlers.

On to the beers; 5 in total on-tap; Holiday, Imp IPA, Pils, Saison, White IPA. All of the beers were tasty and unique when compared side by side. The Pils was very representative of the style with sharp crispness and subtle hop flavors. The Holiday and Imp IPA were my favorites with intense hop favors and complex malt bill.

Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely one back again soon.

A few last notes, the brewery offers tours for $5 per person with plenty of beer samples along the tour. Also, you can order food fin local eateries and have them delivered right to the bar; love the idea just like at dba in NYC.

Nice, large space overlooking the brewery floor. Huge bar and even larger open space with tables. The place is super popular locally and is accordingly jam packed. An ex-cop type is thoroughly checking IDs at the door with an earpiece and large pistol on his belt, under his shirt. Several other bouncers are prowling around as well. Makes me wonder what type of crowd frequents this place later on. (I was there in early afternoon.) I took the tour, led by the brewery's yeast biologist. Yeah, you read that correctly. Very impressive place on the brewing side. I'm glad I went on the $5 tour. If I had just walked in to try a few beers I would not have enjoyed it very much.

This place is a gem. By far the most beautiful brewery in the state. Huge space with an amazing history behind it and the tasting room is just amazing. The bar is made from the original floor that was a part of this 100 year old factory. More space than you even need in a tasting room. Tours are fun and done be a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Always something fun going on here and on the weekends they always have great local food trucks. Their beers are pretty solid with some awesome limited releases so far. I see nothing but great things coming from this brewery. I frequent the place quite often since it is only a half hour away from me. I see Two Roads being around for quite a long time and I'm proud to say they are from CT.
