CRANK THE HOPS to the point right before tastebuds bleed with a PNW / Aussie blend. Super smooth malt base, pine resin, bright tangerine and pineapple hop flavor and aromatics. At 105 IBU’s, “Half-Stack” is a relative term – As we like to say, “If it’s too hoppy, you’re too old!

A: [2.75] Cloudy apricot colored beer with visible debris/yeast/chunks. It pours out with 1/2 a finger of fluffy white head. The chunks are the size of poppy seeds and smaller. There are lots of them. The bottle lists the ABV (6.6%) and there is a born on date (12/29/15) so this is only a few weeks old.
S: [3.75] Pine, lemon zest, peaches, dried apricots.
T: [4.00] Similar to the nose with pine up front and lemon peel in the mid palate. Not a lot of malty sweetness to be found.
M: [4.00] Good carbonation and body. The beer has a mildly bitter finish.
O: [3.75] The good news is that the beer smells, tastes and feels good. Visually it did have some issues with the floaties which cost it some points on the Appearance. The smell and the taste are both really nice. There is not much in the way of a malt backbone (no sweetness or breadiness) but the beer still holds up well without it. The mouthfeel is pleasing as is the slightly bitter finish. I like this beer and would drink more of it.

Look...pale yellow hazy. you cannot see through the glass. pretty for NEIPA
Smell....Orange citrus hop tangent that really takes it away
Taste...damn nice sweet citrus fullness i really admire. Sweetens a little as it warms. This is great to come back to because for me this beer was on the precipice of the juicy style IPA and man it still delivers.
Feel... a little slick with a really nice carbonation that really fills this beer out and brings a dry bitter that is highly enjoyable.
Overall...a little blast from the past that definitely holds up. Recommended single IPA purchase .Excellent.

Single-Cut Half Cut IPA growler tasted at 45F on Christmas Eve, 2019. NEIPA isn't my favorite, but this one doesn't go overboard on the fruitiness. The beer is pale. Malt body is modest, but enough to meet my needs. There is a fruity hop character, but this isn't overwhelming. A moderate bitterness finishes off the taste. Brewer description says 105 IBUs, but I think they disappeared somewhere between the brewery and me. Altogether a drinkable brew, but maybe too traditional for modern IPA fans and too fruity for someone looking for an old-style hoppy ale.
