Pours brownish black into a tumbler glass, a compact layer of creamy tan foam rises and leaves plenty of delicate lacing in the glass. Lasting surface coverage as well.

Aroma is unmistakably peanut buttery on first whiff, becoming more roasty and chocolatey over time. Nicely dry and roasty.

Taste is peanut butter and bitter chocolate, reminiscent of Reese cups and peanut butter banana sandwiches. Earthy nutty peanut lingers, and a bitter dry roastiness builds towards the end. Sweetness is present but only around the periphery, striking a nice balance. Creamy smooth body, lightly chewy and full bodied. Very well done, enjoyed this quite a bit.

Served in a shaker pint glass.

Giving yet another go to a supposed peanut butter porter. We'll see. It pours a dark black-brown topped by a finger or so of sandstone foam. The nose comprises sweet coffee, light hazelnut, mild cocoa powder, mild roasted malts, and a hint of Nutella. Not getting much peanut butter here... The taste brings in more of the same, the coffee and hazelnut seemingly combining to form a slightly nutty character that may or may not be construed as "peanut butter". The body is a straight medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda drying finish. Overall, a nice porter, though I would call it more of a coffee porter than a peanut butter porter.

From a bottle, pours a dark brown, almost opaque color with ruby hues and a wispy brown head.

The nose is all peanut butter. It is not as pronounced as other beers that attempt this gimmick style, but its obvious for sure. Beyond the peanut shells, you also get chocolate, roasted oats, and a little dark fruit. The flavor is mostly chocolate, peanut butter, a little vanilla.

This is pretty good. I can't fault them for doing exactly what they intend to do. It's a peanut butter porter for sure.

Finally had a chance to try a Spiteful beer, and I had this one on draft. Really dark black body with a nice deep brown head. Smell is roasted coffee with some peanut butter sweetness peeking through. That is pretty much the taste as well. I get a little peanut on the front end and some peanut butter on the back end of the finish. The main flavor is roasted coffee though. It's a little boozy and the roast is very rich and powerful. I'd love to see the booze and the roast dialed back slightly. The mouthfeel was on the richer side for a porter, which really played well with the flavors. Pretty impressed and look forward to trying more from these guys.
