Can courtesy of JohnnyHops.
~13 months since canning.
L: very dark brn with super thick creamy Brn head.
S: cinnamon spice & everything nice.
T: Chocolate, spices, peppery, toasty, pepper, smooth. Butterscotch, Berry sweetness.
F: Fairly thick. Definitely smooth and creamy. Slight booze.
Overall: pleasant Santa workshop taste contrasts with zombie label. Pretty sweet and smooth with a touch of spice, for a big imperial stout.

Appearance - pours black with a thin tan head that quickly dissipates to nothing. Can gushed really bad when I opened it.
Aroma - Lots of chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, and very mild peppers. Light sweet chocolate just a hint of bitter coffee and roasted malts.
Taste - Really tasty like a sweet dessert stout with big chocolate and vanilla up front mixed with cinnamon hint of caramel, the peppers are more for flavor just a touch of heat at the end.
Feel - Smooth creamy feel was expecting the carbonation to be higher but it is really nice. Little warmth on the finish along with some dryness.
Overall - really well done stout great flavors really smooth and easy drinking.

Appearance - from the can, the beer poured a deep black color with a dark mocha head.
Smell - Chocolate and a bit of cinnamon came through in the nose. It did not seem overly sweet.
Taste - Chocolate dominated the initial impression with dry cinnamon. Then, the heat picks up. It was not heartburn level, but it definitely left an impression. In the aftertaste, dry cinnamon was accompanied by dark chocolate.
Mouthfeel - There was a nice level of the viscosity to the stout that works well with the chocolate profile.
Overall - With a little more sweetness, this could be amazingly good.

I agree with the gushing. When I opened my can it exploded and I lost probably a fourth of the beer.
A: Pitch black just like an RIS should be.
Ar: chocolate, chili pepper, vanilla, cinnamon, and some malty sweetness.
T: cinnamon, chocolate, chili, roast bitterness, vanilla
P: the best part of the beer. The pepper and sweetness mingle well along with the bitterness
O: aside from the explosion on opening this is a tremendous beer that I will definitely be more careful opening next time.

Friend brought it over. We drank two bottles. Color is dark. Didn't expect much of the chili component. But it was good. I would drink it again.

Slamming the brakes on the hype train on this one. It is a very good beer, but one of the best in Chicago? No. The smell is very alluring, with aromas of cocoa, peppers, vanilla, graham cracker, and cinnamon. The taste felt like dry cocoa powder hitting the palate, followed by a wave of peppers and cinnamon, all the while maintaining the dry pastry stout feel. Enjoyed and would have again
