Thanks to Brad from Spiteful for giving me a bottle!

A- Pours jet black, with about a 2 finger head worth of foam that recedes to half a finger in a couple of minutes. Head is dark mocha colored. There is also minimal lacing going on.

S- Roasted barley that has a hoppy sharp smell to the end of it. Also smell great amounts of sweet burnt sugar, as well as baker's chocolate. Light, but amazing.

T- Initial roasted coffee taste mixed with some toffee. Can also taste the chocolate and burnt sugar. The hops end all this into a nice bitter aftertaste.

M- Thick and sticky, with moderate amounts of carbonation. Can feel a light amount of booze.

O- Honestly such a great beer from a great brewery. The hops are integrated amazingly into this stout. Very tasty and can drink this all day.

(Served in a tulip glass)

A- This beer pours an inky black body with a thick creamy coco tan head that fades to a thick ring. It is a bit too dense to see any carbonation.

S- The big earthy black roasted malt has some green woody hops aroma to follow.

T- The smooth flavor grows to a full rounded black malt character with some coffee roasted malt and mellow charcoal notes that linger through the aftertaste. There is no real bitterness but a nice fuggle green hop flavor in the finish that supports the malt nicely.

M- The medium mouthfeel has a gentle alcohol warmth and a nice thick texture in the finish.

O- This beer is full of nice big dark roasted flavors but is is very drinkable and a nice hop support with clean yeast. The alcohol is well hidden making this a nice solid stout with English and American qualities.

Batch 8

A: Gorgeous oily opaque black pour - slips out of the bottle and forms a creamy mocha head.

S: Heavily roasted coffee and bitter dark chocolate hit first, then some raisin and caramel, some slight vanilla sweetness.

T: Big roasted coffee and dark chocolate, some ash. Milk chocolate sweetness and caramel in the middle of the mouth. A pretty bitter and ashy russian imperial stout

P: Very smooth. M/F bodied

O: A really awesome beer. Spiteful is off to an awesome start

Black as night with a oily and wet head of tight knitted foam, the beer laced with a curtain of foam along the glass.

Chocolate malt at the forefront of the aroma, there was some strong Graham cracker graininess and then ended in charred coffee.

The taste is so smooth with rich chocolate malt, toasty Graham cracker, roasted coffee and then some char. Smokey, sort of campfire ember, the taste is full and the feel easy.

Very good, tasty beer. Nice entry from a Brewery I'm just now hearing of.

Batch #3

Had this a few weeks ago when it first came out (batch #1), seemed a bit more hoppy then. It's pretty big and roasty, but the hops seem to be diminished in this batch.

Dark and oily pour into a tulip glass, generating a compact head of tan milk chocolate hued foam. Some lace is left behind around the edges of the glass.

Creamy and close to full bodied, slightly chewy. Big roasty bitterness and dry bakers chocolate. Some dark roast coffee, charred toast, dry graphite in the aftertaste. An American Imperial Stout, using Cascade hops. Pretty good and suited to the cool January night.

Recommended for fans of Bells Double Cream Stout or Dark Horse's Stout Series.
