It's a terrible idea coming here for their Awareness Celebration event on 6/8 after I just had 6 beers in Toronado SD.
I had 2 of their beers before being completely drunk. Got a bottle of their Vanilla Rescue Buoy and a glass placed into my car trunk. They took away my key for the night to have me sober up in my car so I won't drive home to OC completely blacked out. I say thank you for all their staffs for the move. Next day while trying to drive home only to discover my car battery is drained for whatever reason, a nice patron jump cabled my car battery so I would able to get home from this bad night. Thank you sir for I didn't learn your name.
I've been here once before that while this brewery is at its infancy. I would say excellent beers all around, it's not just another gimmicky brewery among seas of up-comings in SD county.

Most of the bar staff that works here also brews the beer. Very cool little brewery. Worth checking out if you're going to Lost Abbey, because it's right down the road.

This is a typical industrial park small brewery. They have friendly counter help who more or less handle the lines well (although they let me stand there waiting while two other people walked up, got served and walked away).

The tasting room is a bit small and got crowded during the 90 minutes or so I was there. "Crowded" means in this case "no more available seats so people had to stand". They have a small room off to the side that was quiet (on the plus side) but only after we turned off the sound of the giant TV tuned to sports (d'oh!).

The beer lineup is solid and respectable. By San Diego standards it's a little below the "A" list. A bonus though is the sheer number of beers they have on tap. If I'm not mistaken, it was 16.

Not an essential stop, but you're not wasting your time if you decide to visit.

Rip Current has become a nearly weekly hangout for me, and I always drop in for a couple of beers. The staff is very friendly, and offer great service every time. Probably my favorite aspect of this brewery is that they're always in the process of creating new and exciting beers all the time, and improving their IPA profiles. Rip Current also crafts some excellent beers in the German and English styles, and always offer plenty of variety.
