From growler. Pours clear copper orange with a big frothy white head that retains well and leaves some lacing.
The aroma is muted with some grainy malt and fruity grassy hops.
The flavor is sweet fruity malts with resiny tarry hops with good bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, I've liked this much better in the past when I've had it at the brewery.

agree with some of the other reviewers that this one is a let down. it looks the part okay, with a hazy honey color and some patchy white fluff with good retention. it smells way too sweet and not hoppy at all, at least in the traditional sense. i get more cereal grain both in nose and taste, like cheerios, stale ones at that, than i do hops overall. not a bad beer as a pale ale maybe, but in an ipa context, especially the colorado ipa context, its pretty rough, perhaps underdone, leaving a bit to be desired. it has a fuller body from the residual sugar that is unflattering, but the carbonation isn't bad here. i have had other stuff from black bottle and liked it a lot, even hoppy offerings that have been quite impressive, but this beer is nothing special and is easily lost in the crowd of these. if i was evil twin i wouldn't even bother suing over the name. pedestrian at best.

On tap at West End Tap House in Denver. Orange color, looks just fine. Smell has a good touch of butter, uh-oh. Flavor is strong butterscotch and buttered popcorn, diacetyl anyone? I could not detect a single hop under all this butter and I was completely disappointed. How do breweries let these batches out? They should really feel bad because I'm not sure these flavors are something that would develop after it left the brewery.

Served on tap at Choice City in fort Collins.
Amarillo Hipster is a pale golden amber color with very good clarity. It has thin white head that settles quickly but leaves some nice lacing behind.
Aroma is pleasantly hippy but not overly so. Fresh and citrusy with subtle sweetness from the malt.
Flavor is balanced but hippy with some citrus and honey.
Mouthfeel is really nice on tap with medium-light body and carbonation.
Overall a well done IPA.
