Clear golden amber with a mildly richer vein through the middle. Standard white head only starts at a half a finger or so before settling to just a thin veneer of tiny boils. Decent lacing considering

Sweet sweet fruits almost reminds me of gummi candies.... like frutios or something. At least that's the first wave that hits me. I'm also very hungry. I got up to stir the pasta and came back and don't get any of that at all. Now it's primarily a faint, blunt pine and dull pith. Some rye spice and indescriminate other malts.

Rye spice meets mellow hops. sharply sweet nectar/floral and blunted edges of grassy hops. I seen someone mention honeysuckle and that is a very apt descriptor. Crisp and drinkable. Fits the season in which it is available pretty nicely. Finish condenses to the dichotomy of bitter spice with a nectar sweet edge and both stick around nicely. The carbonation is there but it blends into the background like those stage assistants who dress all in black that you're not supposed to see.
I was skeptical initially, but by the end of this glass I find myself enjoying it and would certainly drink another one, though I wouldn't go out of my way to acquire it.

Inconsequential side note: I really like the label. Not entirely sure why, but it just works for me.

22oz bottle purchased at Mid-Columbia Wine & Spirits in Kennewick, Washington, for $4.95. This is the first time I’ve seen bottles from Bellevue Brewing. There doesn’t seem to be a freshness date, despite the big, wraparound label providing lots of space for one. It does say it’s part of a “Seasonal Series” but does not indicate which season.

Poured a hazy golden amber, with a big, creamy yet bubbly off-white head that left lots of lace on the sides of a 20oz Boston Lager glass.

Mild aroma. I get resiny, citrusy and piney hops with some spicy notes from the rye malt, but at a really low amplitude.

Pretty much like the nose, with a restrained hop flavor, though it’s well-balanced with the rye malt.

Medium bodied, with a surprisingly clean finish, a quality I don’t normally associate with IPAs, rye or otherwise.

This is a pleasant tasting beer that would taste better if it just stood out a little more. Now that I know it is a summer seasonal beer (at least that’s how it’s listed on BA), I suspect it might have been a little more dominant tasting when fresh. Still, if the hops have faded, they’ve done so along with the malt, keeping well-balanced, something I haven’t encountered before in over –age IPAs.

Not much on aroma but the spicy grainy taste is right on the money. A little yeast in the amber brew with a frothy pour in the big chalice. Nice mouthfeel and sudsy

Resiny and tangy. Clean and well made, like everything from Bellevue. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at 99 bottles in Federal Way.

22oz bottle poured into a large mug. If there's a date on it I don't see it.

Pours very slightly hazy, golden amber, with a pretty big slightly off white head and lots of carbonation. Smell is...honest reaction: Smells like a brewery. Musty, bready, yeasty, and hops. Seriously, if you've ever walked into an active brewery, this is what it smells like.

Taste is very rye, nice hoppy presence, very rye. Some honey sweetness, some honeysuckle.

Mouthfeel is surprisingly thin. Overall, it's a fairly good beer, but it's not great.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. A medium gold to light coppery ambe with a healthy two finger off-white head with great retention and lot of lacing. Aroma of candi malt, grassy and citrus hops and a light rye tartness, lemon. Flavor follows aroma with neutral, but supportive malt, pleasant lemony citrus hops with some light herbal elements, light rye and associated light tartness, lemony citrus hop bitterness lingers in the finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. As advertised, a nice blend of American IPA and rye ale, leaning towards a lemon citrus IPA with rye flavors adding a some adventure and tartness. My taste runs to a stronger malt character and maybe more rye influence, but on an above average warm evening, this was a pleasant easy drinking rye IPA.
