A - Poured from a 22oz. bottle into a tulip glass. A hazy pumpkin pie orange

S - Mostly yeasty homebrew smell. Little hop & citrus on the nose as well.

T - Yeasty homebrew, subtle hop

M - Good mouthfeel. Smooth carbonation and nice finish, but not the best taste.

O - I like Foley Brothers beers, but this is a beer I wouldn't buy again.

I like the ginger wheat and brown ale.

650 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Bright orange. Nice white head. Lacing clings to the glass. A few bubbles remain on the surface.

Smell - Orange citrus. Musty grapefruit. Sweet doughy malts.

Taste - Doesn't live up to the nose. Similar. Orange hops. Grapefruit. Grainy malts. A little bit sweet.

Mouthfeel - Medium body. Mild sweetness.

Overall - Enjoyable. Nothing remarkable, but I liked it.

Very excited to have found the newest Foley Bros. bomber in Winooski, Vt. Served in a Citizen Cider snifter.

A: Golden orange, not clear yet not entirely cloudy. Quite attractive.

S: Spicy, piney, citrus. A bit of malt.

T: Like the smell, the first thing that hits you is the spicey, piney hops. For a single IPA, there are a great deal of (VT grown) hops in here. Thereafter comes a brief moment of citrus hops alongside the pine, but this gives way to a bit of significant malt--not enough to be an English IPA but the malt is much more noticeable than Heady, for example.

M: Not insubstantial at all, very significant. Fruity, bready, piney, and citrusy.

O: Having seen Foley Bros. bombers on shelves for several months without having tried either of their introductory offerings (Ginger Wheat & Brown) I was excited to see their newest offering at the fantastic Winooski Bevvy. Couldn't pass it up. And, frankly, having ambiguous expectations for an IPA from a relatively new brewery that I have no experience with, this IPA is up there among my favorite Vermont IPAs. A bit stronger and hoppier than my stand-by Fiddlehead IPA, this is a fantastically surprising VT IPA from Brandon, Vt. Highly recommended, I will be grabbing this bomber again.

Made primarily from local VT incredients this is a very solid IPA. at seven percent this veers a little close to IIPA territory for me with hop dankness that lingers long on the tongue more reminiscent of that IIPA category. The pour gives a shortlived head that leaves no lacing. The color is a copper-amber with a fair amount of haze. Heavy citrus and pine hop character, little malts coming through and very little sweetness, which is nice.

Overall a very solid drinker if you are looking for a lot of hops.

Pours a hazy golden/orange with a persistent fine white head. Flavor profile provides noticeable bitterness, but no prominent floral or citusy notes. This leans to the resin/pine side of the IPA flavors, but those fade quickly leaving just a lingering bitterness. Aromatics are excellent and promise some flavors that don't appear. Good but it is missing something.

Picked up a bomber while driving through VT. Poured in a shaker pint, the beer is a slightly hazed, bright copper coloring with a slow flow of carbonation and a creamy, filmy, clingy, off-white head. Aromas of subtle caramel in the backbone, with a super bitter blast of hops resin, lemon and grapefruit highlights, and popcorn characteristics. Flavors are a bit on the light side, with a pepper, cedar, and resiny blend of hops characteristics. Malt backbone also comes off a little on the light side. The beer is balanced, but the flavor profiles could pack a bit more punch for my tastes. The aftertaste is tangy sweet, with more of the spicing of pepper, basil, and oregano. Good linger, with a tangy, roasted sweet character on a slick, slightly dry finish.
