This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance had a nice hazy bronzed brown to orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving a messy sort of foamy white lacing roaming all about. The smell had an earthy yet bittersweet citrus to piney aspect with a light underscore of caramel malts. The taste was earthy sweet and the bitterness came across fairly subdued. A light caramel to bitter citrus roamed in the aftertaste and bled into a dry earthy sort of finish. On the palate, this one sat more at a medium on the body with a balance between the sessionable and sipping aspects. The carbonation seemed fine and the bitterness seemed fairly tame. Overall, pretty good IPA I could come back to.

Brought some back from a weekend beer run to VT. I have a fridge full of Heady, Second Fiddle and Hill Farmstead and this one can definitely hang with those. Very smooth and satisfying. Nice balanced IPA.

Just how I like IPA's. Not overly aggressive and the 70 IBUs are well masked by the malt backbone. This screamed stone fruits to my wife and I, nectarines and apricot.

From BeerAdvocate Magazine #86 (Mar 2014):
Earthy, Bitter, Piney
This small-batch brewer brings forth a very rustic American IPA. The Vermont-grown hops give it an extremely deep grassy, earthy and pine character. It screams New England IPA with ample bitterness yet a balance that brings a high level of drinkability. Well worth seeking out a bottle, or a few.

Appearance: Perfectly clear bright gold. Head is bright-white and creamy. Drops to a small clumpy creamy cap in short order. Moderate to lively carbonation.
Smell: Tropical and floral. Similar to almost everything else that comes out of VT, at least on the hop profile. Peaches, some ruby red grapefruit, tangerine, and even a hint of pineapple. Some lightly toasted and caramelized malts. Sweet without being syrupy or cloying. Flower petal with some underlying woody bitterness. Clean. Some grass and husky grain. Slight hint of dough. Some hop spiciness as well.
Taste: Milder than anticipated. Some lightly floral elements coupled with a solid punch of tropical fruit. Tangerine upfront with some ruby red grapefruit bitterness as well. Earthy and herbal in good measure with some grass. A touch of mimicked sweetness from the hops. Malts offer up some caramelized sweetness with a touch of undercooked biscuit. Some hop spiciness on the back along with a touch of alcohol.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with a moderate carbonation. Slightly crisp and surprisingly clean.
Overall: Straight to the homeland.
This is the barest expression of the New England IPA. It's the framework on which the legend is built.

Bottle: Poured a clear bright yellow color ale with a nice large pure white foamy head with excellent retention and some good amount of lacing. Aroma of grapefruit juice is just about perfect. Taste is also dominated by fresh grapefruit juice with nice floral undertones, light residual sugar notes and pretty much zero bitterness. Body is about average with good carbonation. Another incredible Vermont IPA!
