Pint glass.

A brushed copper color make for a very inviting appearance. Mild carbonation give this ale a small head but the lacing is decent. Scents are mild hops with some bitterness. A woodsy malt and very minor sweet scents in the finish. A quality bouquet on the olfactory scenses

Flavors are medium bitter. A nice hop that balances well with the malts. Some floral qualities to the flavor and a bit of butter. Some very minor sweetness at the end. The flavors are well balanced to each other.

This is one smooth ale. Medium bodied it lets you know it is there. It travels with ease and leaves one wanting many more. This is a session beer at its best.

It is great to drink a real cask conditioned traditional style beer.

Appearance: Golden/amber body with a decent head and some nice lacing

Smell: Somewhat hoppy with a vegetable odor - DMS?

Taste: Crisp and clean with a moderate amount of bitterness

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with a decent level of carbonation

Drinkability: Goes down easy but I preferred the other offerings from this brewpub

Serving type: on-tap

Had this fine bitter on tap at the English Ales pub. My only regret is they had no cask offering the day I was there. Still on tap this baby was nice. A medium copperish amber was topped by a thin off white head. lacing was scattered and wispy. Earthy healthy aromas on malt and some woodsy notes were present. Taste profile was fruity, malty, flowery, and a nice restrained hoppiness on the finish. I could drink this baby all day! A fine worthy example of an English session bitter. As a self proclaimed expert on British Ale, I say these guys do it right.
