12 oz bottle poured into a pilsner glass.
A - Slingshot pours a deep copper in color with excellent clarity below the well-formed ivory head. Sticky clumps of lace clutch the glass with fortitude for one inviting-looking beer!
S - Munich malty sweetness gives Slingshot a wonderful aroma of fresh-from-the-oven nut bread thickly sliced and drizzled with a dribble of toffee.
T - Nuttier than the nose suggests, the thick, dense bread flavor carries over with more malt heft and sweetness dusted with just a hint of cocoa before finishing quite cleanly.
M - Crisp and lighter in bodied than expected for it's color, Slingshot is smooth and easily drinkable with just the slightest lingering sweetness on the tongue.
O - Munich Dunkel might not be the most popular style in the craft beer world but this German-style brewer has nailed the classic dark German lager with Slingshot. Nutty, bread-like maltiness never becomes too sweet or aggressive, just finishing cleanly for a really tasty, easy drinking beer!

Had on tap in a Weizen glass.
Copper - amber body and solid finger of white foam. Decent retention after initial sips.
Caramel malt and rye bread on the nose. Some honey. Toasty and sweet.
Initial earthy bitterness on the tongue. At mid-palate more earthiness rides with that rye malt and slightly resin-y hop flavor. The finish is pretty clean with mineral water, cracker malt and some more earthiness.
Medium body, some creaminess, a little watery. So close to being a great feel.
This is a solid beer. If the palate transferred the sweet complexities of the nose, this beer would be in my fridge indefinitely.

Poured from the bottle into a pilsner style glass.
A cloudy chestnut amber body, kind of motionless a bit with some fast rising carbonation that's hard to see, and a bit of yeast chunk at the bottom. Head forms large on the pour but in control with a foamy three finger tan top and soapy retention.
Nice solid, nose if a bit grainy. Clove like spices and some sticky smelling yeast. Hints of peanut strangely which seems a bit off putting.
Palate is a bit surprising, with a little bit of a light body. Interesting fruity estery tones on this similar to grape and cherry. Hinted crispness that falls a little flat with a mineral water action. Hop herbality seems very unoticeable in this, but drinks well and quite easy. Much more caramel like warmth comes out as the beer warms.
Overall not too bad for a dunkel
