I don't usually drink beers this small but ill make an allowances for Brendan and it pours a dirty light copper hue with a one finger head and a touch of lacing here and there, the smell is caramel candy with fruit salad hops and a touch of fruit punch, the taste like smell is a little subdued for me the mouthfeel is light bodied and well carbonated and the tastes are light with hints of fruit salad, tropical punch, caramel candy and finished with fruity tanginess and overall it's alright and something that's super sessionable but its no travelling monk by any means cheers.

Bottle: a standard 330mL dark brown bottle with a truly fantastic label. A lot of effort has gone into the packaging - minimal but stylish. Love it.

Appearance: pours a hazy - almost mottled - brown-copper colour with constant fine carbonation visible. A tiny but creamy head rises and falls within the first 30 seconds to a solid beige ring, spattered lacing. Looks pretty good - would like a bit more head retention.

Aroma: a lot more aroma than I would expect from a 2.9% - typical red ale aromas of chunky caramel, earth and orchard fruits. Smells quite sweet - nice.

Taste: more emphasis on the earth flavours here rather than the caramel and fruits. A bit too sharp - some more ABV would be nice.

Aftertaste: drops away really quickly - lucky this one is easy drinking.

Mouth feel: I think this is where the main issue is - light in body with a moderate carbonation. The carbonation is pretty good but it could really have used a heavier body - just seems a bit watery and lacking.

Overall: I'm stuck in a bit of a bind here. Boneyard has finally proven to me (along with Little Creatures' Rogers Beer) that a low ABV doesn't necessarily mean a poor, low-flavour beer. At the same time however, I still think a bit more ABV and a heavier body would produce a truly outstanding beer. As it stands, still quite a drinkable beer but I'll take a 6-pack rather than the case at AU$100 a case of 24 x 330mL bottles (2014). A very nice lower ABV beer - just wish they made a stronger version of the same so I could compare.
