Big thanks to n2185 for the bottle. Tasted 27 June 2014.

Pours a lightly hazed pale straw yellow, with just a touch of gold. Two fingers of fizzy white head, okay retention, not much lacing. A thick column of bubbles rushing up from the nucleation point at the bottom of my glass.

Smell is delightful. Lightly funky, hugely floral underneath that, with a gentle overlayer of white wine. Delightfully complex, deep and airy at the same time.

Whoa. Taste is interesting. All sorts of stuff going on, much of it unexpected. Apple juice, sweet white wine, some barny funk in the back. As it warms, it gets more funky and tart and tangy, less sweet, but retains that amazing complexity.

Feel is a ride. Starts out sort of heavy and flattish, then buzzes up like a bee warming up, before relaxing slowly as the fizz fades. Quite unusual, but it works.

This is an oddly unique beer. Lots of flavors combining in unusual ways, and a mouthfeel that adds character and brightness.

Pours straw colored with a very fizzy white head. Not much aroma other than some sour yeast. Taste is very carbonated, crisp, funky sour, a little lemon, and finishes pretty slick. It is like a sour, light bodied champagne to me. I will throw out a disclaimer that I don't get into this style much. I do like some farmhouse ales, but this one isn't for me. I think it is pretty smooth and drinkable - for those who do, give it a try.

A: Pours a mostly clear pale yellow in color with moderate to heavy amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass with some faint straw yellow highlights. The beer has a two finger tall fizzy white head that reduces to a medium to large sized patch of very thin film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of barnyard funk, lacto-sweetness, oak, and distinctive brett. There is a lighter underlying aroma of pale malts and spicy saison yeast.

T: Upfront there is a very light flavor of tasted grain malts with a moderate to strong flavor of barnyard funk and tartness. Moderate distinctive flavors of brett and white grapes along with a lighter note of oak and just a hint of lacto-sweetness. There is a very light presence of spicy saison yeast.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation. Moderate to heavy amounts of acidic prickliness. Moderate amounts of dryness in the finish.

O: Extremely enjoyable, easy to drink, and a wonderful showcase for the brett. I could easily drink this one over and over again and I understand why it is a medal winner from GABF. A very well constructed beer with good aromas, flavors, and mouthfeel.
