Malice is a Brettanomyces farmhouse Ale fermented with blood orange, tamarind, lime zest, and ancho chilies. The beer is then blended with a portion of golden sour ale and diabolically aged in our French oak foeder until it reaches terrifying perfection.

Pours a darker golden color. 1 finger white head. The retention is ok. No lacing on the glass.
Wild funky nose. Floral and wild. Slight earthy aroma.
Taste - very wild tasting. Lots of floral flavors here. Some orange here.
Great body. The funk lingers in my throat.
I love a wild ale, and this is awesome!

A nicely complex, very funky, moderate sour wild ale by Wicked Weed. Recommend.

500 mL bottle poured into Kane tulip glass.
L: Little bit of a fuzzy white head, but it goes away quickly, leaving just a thin ring. Beer is a somewhat clear gold with a bit of a pinkish hue.
S: Citrus, especially lime rind, and the brett funk appear to take charge here. Hints of some barrel and orange.
T: Again lime is predominant here. You get more of the oakiness and brett as it works through. A bit sour. Not really finding the chili here.
F: Light bodied, pretty good carbonation. Gotta dock the construction a bit as you don't really get all the flavors, or some override the other. Dry and refreshing. The lime is good.
O: Another decent saison-type from WW.

Pint-nine bottle, 6.1% ABV, 9/20/17, I aged this a little while in my cellar. Stella Artois glass.
Dark sunset orange with a creamy head of 2 fingers, receding gradually to a finger leaving sparse broken lace on the glass.
Nose : Blood orange is right out front here, with slight pepper kick in the background, and a malty middle with hints of black limes, salt, hay, and toasted grains.
Flavor is very complex and beautiful unlike the bottle. Lots of wonderful blood orange with that peppery ancho kick; lime zest makes a wonderful addition without being overwhelming; salt and the sweet/spicy/chili flavor of tamarind sticks. A contemplative sipper.
Feel is exactly what you'd expect a Saison to be - effervescent and light, buttery, carbonated, semi-dry, and a slight slickness.
Overall, a really nice and tasty bottle conditioned Saison with tons of flavor and layers to ponder. Definitely check this one out.

Pours almost clear, honey amber to new gold. An almond cream head lingers a few minutes before leaving a ring of lace. Tiny bubbles of carbonation randomly waft up slowly from within a Piraat tulip glass.
The aroma is funky apple cider, followed by biscuit malt and ample oak. Warmth accentuates earthiness and grape must.
The flavor is quite tart with a quick hit of bitterness followed by sweetness. Sour orange is present, followed by herbs and oak before tart apple takes over late in each sip. The finish is long, sour and moderate. Warmth brings to mind old leather books and the atmosphere of a cigar smoke-filled room.
Soft woollen texture works well with the medium body. Carbonation and alcohol are modest, neither cleaning the palate.
The beer falls short of the label's bravado, but is enjoyable on a quiet, cold, mid-autumn Sunday.

bottle from some box from some trade some time ago. enjoyed from a wicked weed mini. the description is a bit scary w Brett, fruits, and zest, and chile. didn't know what to expect, but enjoyed the liquid. mostly a brett ale with the fruitiness of the blood orange and lime zest softly trickled on top with the chile. it's all there but it works. not magic but good.

Slightly hazy orange color with off-white head. Aroma has some overripe stonefruits, light grape vinegar and some farmhouse notes. Taste is fruity, quite tart, dry with some nice floral farmhouse notes. Light body, high carbonation. Overall it’s a quite nice, easy drinking wild ale.
