a really excellent saison, but perhaps not the most robust use of mosaic hops out there. its reserved and balanced, and still more yeast flavored than hop flavored, but mosaic hops are built for saison type beers, and they do their thing beautifully in this one. surprisingly clear for the style, this beer has a radiant gold luster to it and a nice inch of white head. not cloudy and hazy like most saison out there. the hops come through the nose great, imparting tropical fruit into the mix that is picked up by the belgian type saison yeast strain and makes a powerfully fruity aroma. the flavor is less intense than that, with a really pale base that must be predominantly pils malt. hops could be more robust here, i love mosaic and can never get enough, so this just may be my palate's bias, but the beer is well balanced and the mosaic comes through well. the yeast isnt as funky as it might be, i would almost prefer it to be a little less neat and tidy, but i like it for what it is. also super drinkable, this beer is really light in body and carbonated well. good summer saison.

1-liter growler poured into a wicked weed snifter. The brew appears a clear copper with yellowish green highlights around the edges. An off-white cap rests atop fasing leaving spotty lace.
The smell is green and leafy with a vegetative quality. Some alcohol indication is also evident but there is no yeast derived notes to be found which is strange for a beer classified as a saison (unless french saison yeast was used.)
The taste is boozy and somewhat fruity with very mild yeast ester and bitterness with rindy hop flavors quickly transitioning to green yeastiness and vegetative hop quality. This is very dry and lingering with fruity pulp that does an OK job hiding the vegetative aspects.
This is a medium to light bodied offering that is very dried out with a minimal yeast impact to the nose but very strange almost off in flavor. The alcohol was quite noticeable and collectively I think this brew misses the mark.
