Pours a hazy copper color in the goblet no real head just ringed bubbles as its set in front of me, still manages to lace fairly well though.
Aroma is nice wood notes, vanilla, good citrus hops with some light bourbon notes. This one seems a little lighter then the last barrel aged IPA I tried which is good as it lets the hop profile shine through better.
Taste is nice caramel malts loaded with west coast hop profile. Then the barrel notes come into play light bourbon an increase in vanilla that lingers into a dry woody finish with some lingering bitterness. Seems pretty weird but almost seems like cedar notes but I know bourbon is done in oak.
Mouthfeel is solid medium figured it would be little bigger with 10% and all. Carbonation is on the mellow side.
Overall an enjoyable I2PA on bourbon barrels.
