Concurrant is a brown sour ale aged in wine barrels. The addition of fragrant Dutch wild flower honey and tart black currants to the barrels during aging results in a complex balance of tart and sweet.

Here's a beer from March Madness 2016. Much like the band, it pours a deep purple (although dark purple (+ brown) is prolly more accurate). Head formation much less retention is a struggle for this beer, much like self sufficiency is once you get a taste of those sweet resources from someone else's labor.
The aroma hit some different spots, sure there is the tart currant, much like a black cranberry wine going on here.
Taste, bitter dark currant and some boozy heat, I just don't like my wild ales at this strength. Currant has got to be one of my least favorite fruits(?) to brew with. I didn't find the claims of sweetness to play out accurately with this beer. The brown malt aspect gives it some aspects similar to an oud bruin, but with less acetic acid and more general sour and bitterness. Mouth feel is fine carbonation wise, but the bitterness and booziness I could do without.
This is my least favorite Wicked Weed beer I've ever had.

Muddy brownish-purple with a tall pinkish-tan head settling to a bubbly film leaving a short clinging mound.
Smell is charred barrel and toasted sesame with red wine oak and wild berries that come with a faint acetic note. It has a very tanniny, dark red wine aroma to it that's quite dry of rich merlot-like grape skins.
Taste is less sour than you'd think, seedy and mild of wild berries up front--black, blue, and red, or whatever the currants are imparting here--with a bit of barrel char and toasty oak.
Feel is smooth and clean up front with a light, airy carbonation, becoming prickly and dry on the tail end.

Turns a flute glass dark brown with auburn highlights. Three-quarter inch of fine creamy head has a strawberry blonde color and lasts several minutes, leaving a fine coating of lace.
Tart berries immediately present from the glass followed by mild funkiness. Warmth defines cherry aromas with subtle oak.
Upon first sip, a sharp tang of tart fruit causes the mouth to pucker. This beer is highly acidic similar to some types of red wine. Warmth develops a grape jelly flavor. The finish is lengthy and mild with subdued sweetness and bitterness. Late warmth draws out faint honey notes.
The body is light to medium with a nylon texture. Fine carbonation explodes with each sip. The finish is dry.
This is a good mild Wild Ale. It is refreshing and suitable for celebration, a pre-dinner aperitif, or for Easter afternoon.
