5 oz pour into a tasting glass on tap at the Wicked Weed taproom.

L – Straw color with a ring of white bubbles around the edge of the glass. Crystal clear with lots of bubbles.

S – Definitely getting the basil and a touch of juniper in the aroma. There’s a very refreshing component to the smell as well that may be the cucumber coming through.

T – Pretty straightforward with cucumber, basil, and a bit of juniper. Even though I know it’s not in the beer, I’m getting a taste similar to lemongrass, too. While it is straightforward, it’s also very tasty and very well done.

F – Light-bodied, good carbonation, a very crisp and refreshing mouthfeel and finish.

O – I really, really like this beer. I don’t come across many of these fruit/vegetable beers that I feel strongly about, but this one is just so interesting to me. I never would think that a cucumber beer would catch my attention, but it is just so tasty and refreshing. This is the perfect summer beer.

@ Ridgewood

Clear pale yellow under a slender white head that drops to a bubbly white ring. Fresh, green aromas of cucumber, freshly crushed herbs, green vegetation, and light pepper. Continued cucumber freshness in the flavor, crisp and dry with basil, green grass, and some grain in the finish. Light, very refreshing, and slightly bitter. Quite the interesting beer…so green and fresh without much noise from the malts or yeast. Well made, though I don’t think I’d bother having more than one or two.

Had this on draft at a local bottle shop. Very light in color and had a nice cucumber nose. The taste and mouth feel were very light and refreshing. I prefer the Cigar City version a bit better than this. Overall this is a great summer beer but I personally could have used a little more cucumber.

On draft at Duckworth's in Cornelius NC.

Wicked Weed rarely fails to amaze me. The nose on this beer is fantastic, straight up cucumber and very peppery. There's no denying the cucumber, it's amazingly fresh - as if it was just added - or randalized. Thin golden brew with a nice fluffy head and thick lacing, creamy and peppery. Probably a perfect entry to experimental beers for the novice with easily enough interest for a beer geek like me. Gr8 beer.

Had on-tap at Wicked Weed. Served in a mini shaker glass.

A- Pours a medium golden color with a 1/4 inch white head that retains a bit before falling to a thin ring around the edge of the glass and a full sheet of sheer surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves a broken ring behind.

S- Some bright saison yeast and then some cucumber that's quite apparent but not overly so.

T- Cucumber presence is greater in the flavor with a mild tangy saison yeast bite. Very refreshing if not a bit watery near the end.

M- Very mildly sharp with medium carbonation and a light body.

O- I'm glad that the cucumber isn't too heavy in this as the only other cucumber saison I've had was Cigar City's and it was a bit too much.
