Went on a Sunday Evening. Place was jam packed with patrons eating before a show at the adjacent Orange Peel music venue. Service was awesome. Quick and friendly staff that was genuinely interested in taking care of me and my fellow beer geek comrade. We both had a flight and sandwich. I had a lamb burger that was divine. The flight was inexpensive and delicious. Asheville is a great beer town and stopping by Wicked Weed is a must when visiting this idiosyncratic western North Carolina town. (497 characters)

A nice building on the edge of downtown, lots of seating outside with a fire pit. It is a nice enough place but no really unique character to it. The food is quite good, we had some of the pork rinds which were still crackling from the frier, and my bacon and tomato sandwich was awesome. The beer stands out as well, everything we had was good and some where great, though the sour beers we had the next day at the funkatorium were by far the best. I had high expectations as I had spent the last three years or so hearing about how this place finally gave Asheville a brewery that justified the locals boasting about what a great beer town this is and I wasn't disappointed. (680 characters)

The upstairs restaurant is very nice with very attentive staff. The food is good, and there are 10+ beers on tap with flights available. The focus is definitely hop-driven brews, but there are always some available that suit the palate of those who are more averse to hop-flavor. Downstairs is a tasting room that opens later in the day which boasts 29-some taps. The staff claim that the benefit of the space is that it is situated in the actual brewery, so bar-goers can see the facility, and there is more room to provide a wider selection of beers on tap. Unfortunately, after drinking at the bar upstairs, downstairs proved to be exactly the same in appearance and only offered two more beers than were available upstairs. (727 characters)

Other than the sheer mass of people this was a fantastic place to enjoy beers in the cellar or food up top. The beer selection was great and the wait staff was incredibly friendly. I had a bison burger that was amazing and a flight of fantastic beers. (251 characters)

Food was bad, little to no care involved. Beer was good but not great. (71 characters)

Great vibe, food, and beer. Phenomenal establishment overall with the only negative comment being that a fourth or so of beers on the draft list were tapped out and unavailable. (177 characters)

Wicked Weed proved that it is possible to care about the quality of beer, the aesthetic appearance of the brewery and the quality of food. Many breweries have a lot to learn about aesthetics from WW. Maybe I had low expectations from the sour experts with a wacky name, but it was actually a lot more cultured place than I was expecting. I really enjoyed the whole experience.

Bottles are available behind the bar for those that come just for beer, but WW is also about great food. The menu was pretty unique and a little overwhelming for a first time guest, but high quality at a reasonable price. Flights of 6 were available for $10. Unfortunately, the Funkatorium was not open yet when I was there.

Asheville is a craft beer town and Wicked Weed is king. Definitely the place to go on the north side. (815 characters)

One of the best breweries in Asheville know for their prowess in funky beers (wild ales, sours, Belgians etc.) The brewery/restaurant is really nice with large windows that open in warm weather. It is really a cool place to lounge, relax, people watch and enjoy beautiful weather while having some delicious beer. The food is good from the apps that I have had including the beer tartare and the brussel sprouts. The food is definitely a notch above the majority of brewpubs that seem to just go for mediocre American fare like burgers and fries. There is a really large board showing a great number of their beers available for consumption. Service can get a little slow or inattentive at times but nothing too bad. Wicked Weed is a must visit when in Asheville, NC. (767 characters)
