The Stinger IPA is slightly different, because locally-sourced honey is used as a main ingredient. The end result is an IPA that really lets you know you're drinking a hoppy beer, without it being a 'hop-bomb' that goes all nuclear on your taste buds. It is a clean, crisp, bitter, and hoppy American IPA.

This is practically imperial strength and you can feel the alcohol’s warmth after a sip. Orange aroma, dark gold color, nearly amber. Low carbonation.

Had on tap at Kinsale. I want to be fair here as I think Kinsale does a poor job of providing glasses that don’t smell of soap. So getting beyond the Palmolive smell, this beer was disappointing. Not very hoppy, slight burnt orange smell and taste, and overall just kind of thin. I like Bog Iron, but this didnt do it for me

On tap at Mac and Walt's in Norton, MA.
This one pours a dark orange, almost amber, with a small long lasting, with a good amount of lacing.
Smells like honeyed caramel malt, candied grapefruit, orange peel, pine and other vague citrus.
This is a cool beer. It's not amazing, but it feels like a lighter and better rendition of Hopslam. It's a nice little hop smack, lots of grapefruit and orange peel, and a small lingering bitterness. The malt character is definitely there, and makes the beer sweet and sticky. The honey is nice and makes the sweetness palatable.
This has a sticky mouthfeel, fairly crisp, with a good level of carbonation.
Bog Iron makes consistently nice beers that don't quite reach the sun.

Pours an almost clear golden orange with a ring of head. Slight aroma of tangerine. Taste citrus...mild and well balanced. Solid feel...really very tasty.

Stinger IPA (with honey according to their website.) On draft at the brewery. Very fine IPA, so I had 2. Followed by their West Coast offering which came up a bit short. (Not bad at all , but shorter than the Stinger.) Stinger was excellent, another brew pointing towards the Hill Farmstead/Trillium new standard IPA.
The verdict is: HELLS YEAH! Nicely made.
(Add-on January 19, 2016) My second impression, drinking a growler poured from the brewery, is that this is not of the HF/Trillium camp clones. But most excellent in a different way. My scoring stands as it was. There is a sort of tartness to the nose and taste, some flavor I can't place but really like, and a sweetness to the finish, maybe the honey?. Fine mouthfeel and some kick that is pretty well hidden. I really enjoyed this brew. And all from a cozy little bar/tasting room in Norton Massachusetts. Very cool.

On cask at Buddy's Pizza in Middleboro, quite different from the kegged version. Much more prevalent nose, way more intense flavor. Nice surprise at a local joint.

Served on tap at Kinsale. Slight hazy burnt orange color, nice white head. Pine, slight citrus and nice malt balance on the nose. Certainly bitter on the taste, not as citrusy as the nose had me at but a nicely balanced, easy drinking IPA.

Current batch seems to have an oxidized character. Yeast may be tired. There is a giant hop aroma but a background of something else. Overall a pretty good beer.
