Third time was the charm, tried visiting American Harvest two other times in the last year, but no dice due to the limited hours (closed mid-afternoon and Sundays). Despite having a full bar, the hours are more in line with the upscale eatery side of the establishment.

Inside there's a host stand past the double doors, bar area and dining to the left, and main dining room straight ahead. We sat at the black granite bar, which had about a dozen seats, though most were unoccupied on a Friday night. The decor was modern and classy, fairly simple and not overdone. The lighting was dim and there were a couple muted flatscreens high on the wall behind the bar. There was also a window into the kitchen area, but not much visible from where we sat. A pair of Rolling Meadows taps were in the back left corner, Fresh Hop Slam Dunkel & Barrel Aged Abe's Ale (the big highlight), plus another empty tap. Bottle list held a couple dozen craft beers, all very affordably priced with little if any markup from retail. Highlights were: 5 beers from Rolling Meadows, 2 Founders, 5 Stone, Smuttynose Robust Porter, Left Hand Milk Stout, Flossmoor Pullman and Smoked Oktoberfest. Imports included: Erdinger, Duvel, Fin Du Monde, Delirium, and Young's Double Chocolate.

Andrew was our bartender, he provided great service and chatted awhile with us about the local beer scene. He also designed the beer list, and offered some recommendations. Overall we had a great time here, and will definitely return for a meal next time in town. Not many (if any) other upscale dining/beer places in town, so check it out if local or passing through.

Wonderful ambiance, even better food whether it be lunch or dinner, and their beer selection usually includes something of real substance. My favorite place to eat in Springfield when I want a classy night out.
