Blue Moon has a orange/golden hue and the body of the beer is cloudy. The active carbonation releases the scent of wheat and light spice into the air, whetting the appetite in anticipation of that first sip.
There are some good flavors present in Blue Moon that convince me to appreciate this beer a little more than I otherwise would. The flavors of wheat, orange, clove, and coriander can all be tasted, along with a touch of lemon. Hops can be detected, but barely. The other flavors dominate this ale.
Blue Moon Belgian White is certainly no substitute for any of the worlds premier Belgian ales but it still offers a good taste that beats most mass- market products and it is sold for a relatively low price. It is widely available, too, making it a good beer to offer to someone who is new to the world of craft brew.
