Coors Original offers an unusual taste that is generally dissatisfying and forgettable. Starting with the appearance, Coors doesn't have much to offer. It has a grainy scent and it loses its foam quickly, even though it is heavily carbonated. It features the taste of light cereal grains along with a small amount of hops, yeast, and other tastes that make it less than memorable. It is generally sweet overall, with a taste that is grainy up front, a little soap- like in the middle, and dry/floral in the finish, which then changes back to sweet in the aftertaste. There is an unusual astringent taste that is tolerable but certainly not good.
Coors Original was once the company's flagship product but it has been surpassed in sales by its light version. The company likes to brag about its use of Rocky Mountain Spring Water but good water alone doesn't make a great brew. Coors Original is a typical mainstream brew that is boring and bland with few redeeming qualities.
