12-pack bought from Piggly Wiggly. $11.99 so about a dollar/bottle
1936 style stubby bottles w/ traditional twist-off caps
yellow straw in color with bubbles
no aroma to my nose
crisp, dry, refreshing. a very good beer so i really don't know why it got a poor rating.
on a side note both my late father and grandpa used to jokingly call coors cowboy kool-ade.

Coors Banquet is a favorite. Love the type of malty flavor it delivers. Definitely a heavier flavor than Coors Light and it's more than welcome. Coors gets a solid review here.

Pretty good option if you want an average beer. Nothing offensive, the flavor isn't too weak or too strong, does the job fine for any situation. Refreshing on a nice hot day or after some hard physical labor.

I drank this beer, but I didn't notice. The koozie the girl put it in at Tecovas was by far the highlight. Still better than Coors Light, which is like saying, I fell in a cesspool, but I didn't drown. Ok—actually, I preferred it to a bottle of water. I will possibly drink this beer again. Good night.

This used to be a sought after beer for folks outside of its distribution area. Now it is everywhere in my he US. I find this a boring American adjunct lager. Drinkable and forgettable. Nice colour, little scent or head. Taste is slightly sweet and bland. Little aftertaste. I can see drinking lots of these for the sake of drinking but I prefer something with more flavour.

Recently sampled during a macro swill blind tasting. Poured from a 16 ounce can into a 20 ounce wine glass (roughly half the can).
The beer pours a solid gold amber color with light lacing and decent head retention. While nothing extraordinary, this is a nice enough looking beer. On the nose I'm not picking up a whole lot, which I guess is no surprise. Over time and with patience, I seemed to pick up some sweet corn and a hint of pepper. To say the least, I was not impressed by the aroma profile with this beer. The flavor profile replicates the nose fairly closely, with a seltzer water like finish. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, with a clean, moderately long finish. Alcohol is virtually understandable, so I guess drinkability isn't too bad. It would probably be pretty easy to pound down a six pack of this swill without much difficulty, except I'm not sure why anyone would want to. The flavor profile is pretty unimpressive and boring... It would be more fun drinking down a six pack of fruit flavored sparkling mineral water frankly.
If this was the only beer on the market, I would discontinue drinking beer.

Coors Banquet.. aka.. Coors Regular, Coors Original, or Coors Heavy was and is the staple beer of the Rockies. Not as popular as its sister light beer version, but still respectful. It pours like a typical American adjunct lager. Head fades quickly. Has a smooth full bodied mouthfeel with a quick clean finish. It isn’t as popular anymore as it used to be some 25+ years ago, but still has a heavy following within its respective Midwest region. If your looking for a better alternative to Miller Genuine Draft or Budweiser look no further then the golden box of coors. You wouldn’t be disappointed for its Price.

I usually get these as a cheap option. Comes in a slightly skinny 12oz can. straight from the fridge it is crisp and refreshing. taste is sweet and inoffensive. for the type of beer this is a good one.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium amber with a quite fizzy, two finger white head that unexpectedly calmed down and left a persistent quarter finger cap. Aroma of lightly grainy lager malt, light corn, hint of lemon and light grassy hops. Flavor is mild grainy lager malt, hint of lemon, a little corn sweetness into the finish which reveals mild grassy hops. Light to medium bodied with light creaminess, but sharp carbonation. I was a bit surprised to see that I had never reviewed anything from Coors before. Killian's Red was one of my first "outside the lager" experiences and was a repeat purchase decades ago. I'd like to revisit it again if I ever see it. Coors was one of my first dissapointments while I was tasting as many beers as possible in the 1970s (although I think that was mostly adjunct lagers at the time). I had been living in Montreal and was amazed at how much fuller in body and taste the mainstream Canadian brews were (my regulars were Labatt Blue and Brador). However when I read that a legendary beer that was not seen outside of Colorado was available in New York state, a friend and I hitchhiked down to try this well hyped beer. We bought a six pack, found a kid's treehouse in a wooded area and cracked them open. I was crestfallen. The legend was a big step down from anything in Canada and even more insipid than most of my favored US (adjunct) lagers of the day. My friend never let me talk them into any travel again after that. This was decades before I got into craft beers but still was a formative moment in my beer adventure.
Anyway, back to Coors Banquet. Like most adjunct lagers, it is a perfectly adequate brew, intentionally brewed to be slightly sweet, have elements of grain and hops, but not enough to offend anyone. I'd have no problem drinking this again in the absence of anything else. The overall profile is light, mellow and has a noticeable flavor attenuation from other adjuncts; I think in a blind taste, I'd suspect this might be a lite lager. Innocuous and bland, but drinkable. This one came in a cool bottle that was a supposed reproduction of the 1936 stubbie bottle Coors used. Except this had a screw cap (I actually used a bottle opener since that's what I use on 99% of the beer I drink these days and didn't notice the twist off cap). Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
