This is one of the better things to come out of Coors.
The head was thin with a little taste you have to drink it quick because it's gone in two seconds.
The Body is plane and bland clear golden tint (looks like bud) well carbonated>
The taste was like they added more taste to original Coors still slight malt and hopps but a little better. Nice refreshing drink butt would not recommend for mass consumption!!

One of the better Coors products. Now its simply called "Extra Gold" (minus the "Coors") but this stuff is still pure Coors. Still kinda cheap, but it actually has some flavor to it and would make a good lawnmower beer.

Extra Gold pours a dark straw/light gold color. Not quite as gold as I was expecting it to be. I actually got a decent two fingers of white foam when I poured this out of the can, and it lasted a minute or two. The smell was grain with what I thought was a slight tropical fruit smell, and add in some slightly musty/husky grain notes. The mouthfeel was smooth but still fizzy. The first sip had some pronounced grain and malt flavors. After trying the other Coors beers it almost seems strong. Slightly bready, and a very slight hint of toasted malt, along with some hop flavor. There is a decent amount of hop dryness in the finish, which surprised me. The aftertaste is lacking, as it is very clean with only hints of malt, even though the dryness somewhat carries over. Tiny amount of alcoholic warmth to finish this one out.

As one of the previous BAs said, this is good stuff to have with your macroswiller friends. I'm going out on a limb and saying it tastes good. Nothing too exciting about this beer, but it gets the job done and won't give you "nasty beer face."

When I was going through Golden CO, we stopped at the Coors Brewery. Being a beer geek, I of course hold my nose at the mention of Coors. Having seen a lot of small breweries, I was quite interested in seeing a huge one. I managed to sample/choke down all four Coors beers while there. This one was the only one that was any good, and the only one with any character.

I had always liked this beer. I think I'll start keeping this around the house for macro drinker visitors and occaisonally for my own enjoyment.

Even pouring it out of the can did not produce much of a head. Crisp taste though. Could be a good "wedding" type beer if trapped at such a poor function. Although I probably would opt for water instead.

Clear light golden hue topped by a quickly settling head. Light graininess and cooked corn in aroma, but is otherwise clean and unappealing. The overall bland flavor is dominated by corn sweetness... hop bitterness is virtually nonexistant, while both hop and malt flavors are absent. Very watery mouthfeel. Finishes abruptly, not unlike seltzer water... I feel like I haven't even had a beer. Other than a pronounced corn flavor, there's absolutely nothing noteable about this brew, but I guess that's the point.

it is only 10.99 for a thirty case to start. we then move on to a golden colored brew that is sharply carbonated. the carbonation is a bit much, but the beer is a bit more mild in flavor. it is not great, but they go down pretty easy, and for the price, it is pretty hard to beat

This beer starts off promising, with a nice medium amber color, and impressive head, but then quickly subsides into a typical macrobrew. Quick malt rush quickly subsides into a cooked corn flavor. Finishes weak.

Very pale with a slight gold tint. Actually not bad head retention. Not much nose... Lots of added sugar and slight malt flavor, but of course no detectable hops what-so-ever.

Pale gold color, modest head, little lace or carbonation. Fresh aroma of grain and faint hops. Taste is refreshing, mild grain and hops, not enough malt for my taste, smooth finish; very clean on the palate. Not bad but not particularly notable either.

Presentation: 12 oz gold and black trimmed can, blurb about how much is effort is put into making this beer on the can. Date on bottom does not tell if it is a packaging date or drink before date.

Appearance: Pale golden hue with a bright clarity, the white lace is wispy and lacks a little in retention. By the end of the glass the head was virtually gone.

Smell: Extremely clean to the nose, touch of fresh sweet husky grain and not much more than that.

Taste: Very crisp upfront, Light to moderate body. Crispness adds to the refreshing quality of this brew which in turn makes it that much more drinkable. Malt flavour is there even though it is on the thin side, lots of grain and mild husk flavours floating around. Nice snappy and straight to the point hop bitterness, clean and bitter without any harshness. The hops double up with the grainy character and clean the palate for more. Nice clean and balanced finish, not too dry but no cloying sweetness either.

Notes: Not too shabby for an American Lager, more flavour and character than most of the other big name lagers. Other than the malt being a bit thin this beer is a better pick in comparison to the bland lagers or skunky of the world.

Another favorite "cheap" or "lawnmower" beer of mine. Great iced down in the cooler on those hot, hot Summer days. Gotta love the 30 pak for $10 on sale where I live (NJ)
