My girlfriend is on a low carb diet so I thought what the hell and tried some of her beer. Pours out the usual fizzy yellow beer look with a white head. I can’t smell anything going on here, maybe the typical cheap beer smell but I am having trouble even detecting that. Taste if you can call it that is watered down version of Coors, which wasn’t so hot in the taste department to begin with. This is possibly pre-drunk beer, as in someone has already drank a beer and then filled the aspen edge bottle with it on its exit. The body is basically as thin as water with a lot of carbonation. Not a beer I would recommend to any one. If you are that worried about carbs just drink less good beer or stick to liquor.

Pours very light straw color with a non-extistent head. The smell is slightly grainy, with no other noticable characteristics present.

The taste is dry with a hint of malt flavor, but not much. Very clean and crisp and highly carbonated, almost like drinking soda water. No off or bad taste to it, but there's really no flavor here at all.

This beer would be refreshing if served ice cold on a hot day. but not something I would drink otherwise. Taken for what it is, (and the market it was designed to compete in) it's not a horrible drink. Just don't expect to get much out of this flavorless beer.

Presentation: 12 oz long neck brown twist off bottle, a freshness date is printed on the neck of the bottle.

Appearance: The head retention is horrible, as soon as the head forms it makes a soda like crackle and then disappears. Light weathered golden hue and great clarity which is not a surprise to me.

Smell: Virtually no aroma at all, faint grain and a light alcohol is all that I detected.

Taste & Mouthfeel: Bone dry and very light in body, decent crispness resembles soda water. Immaculate palate, just traces of grain and a bitterness that might be coming from a hop or just the grain husk … so vague it is hard to pick out. No after taste.

Notes: Very close to water with some minuscule grain characteristics, I am not sure if beer can get any lighter than this. You may as well drink a vodka & tonic.

Pours crystal clear with a head of white bubbles. Wispy aroma of grass and corn? Taste is near non-existent. Grainy and metallic, but no more than that. The only good thing about this beer is the commercial where they play "Mahgeetah" by My Morning Jacket. Man, that's a great song.

Label is very close to Mich Ultra in design and color...hmmm...

Shy of medium gold appearance, clear as a bell with a fine stram of upcharging bubbles that can't really maintain the scant head after 15 seconds. I worked the aroma repeatedly, maybe the barest sense of Wonder Bread stuffiness is there. The mouthfeel is as expected, seltzery, drying, with a light sense of husky grain that starts the flavor decently. Any real flavor falls off mid mouth, hard to get any hop read, though the carbonation counters the barest of malts. Lacks the medicinal qualities of Michelob Ultra, and noses ahead of that low carb offering in my book.

Appearance: Pale golden short lived white head minimal lacing, wow this sucks. Aroma: Pale mellow sweetness lacking on multiple playing fields can't believe it smells of mild graininess and nothing. Taste: Mellow sweetness of light grains lacks beer flavor on many levels this is a poor excuse for beer, wow I can't believe this shit lacks real malt sweetness and has a mild pseudo hop character. Mouthfeel: Light body high carbonation not worth it. Drinkability: Find something worth consuming this is a cheap macro knockoff of a horrible style.

Aspen Edge by Coors.

Being from Coors I knew it was going to be BAD but I gave it a non-bias try.

Appearance- clear yellow like my urine with less froth as well.
Smell- a hint of cheap, cheap, cheap corn and a tin can aroma.
Taste- Watery and skunked with a rancid aftertaste. I honestly spit out the 1 sip I took and dumped it!!

Overall- quite possibly the worst beer EVER!! This disgusting Low Carb crap makes Coors Light seem drinkable. I wouldn't be surprised if the production line was nothing more than a bunch of red-necks drinking Budweiser and urinating straight into the Aspen Edge bottles!

- Basic at best. Better than Michelob Ultra. If I was lost at sea I'd love this!
- Nice golden color with attractive streams of fine bubbles. Just below average head retention. Some minor lacing.
- Very limited nose with just some cereal-like graininess coming through... but clean.
- Delicately crisp and then smooth in the mouth. Medium-light bodied.
- The flavor is limited, but expresses the same maltiness found in the nose. Hops are basically non-existent. It finishes dry (because there's not really much there) with a film of malty residue. Again, there are no hops to give it any flair. Just dull.

Aspen Edge pours to a pale gold color with a short lived fizzy head formation and a very faint malt nose. The palate is exceedingly thin and watery with just a hint of malt but, and this is the one positive, no discernible adjunct flavors. That's probably because there aren't many flavors at all going on here, but there you go.

The finish is balanced overall, with not a lot of hops but then you don't need as many to balance a beer with so little malt character. I found Aspen Edge to be highly carbonated and fizzy, as if that might make up for the lack of flavor. The beer tastes a lot like seltzer water to me (which, I might add, has no carbs).

I really didnet like this beer it has no destinctive smell what so ever, when i opened this beer it seemed almost flat, and had no teast what so ever very unimpressed. a big flop for coors, and you cant drink enough in the world to get drunk. maybe an exceptable beer for the low carb diet.

One of the better low carb beers available. Typical Coors Characteristics: Dissappearling head, pale color, low bitterness. Flavor is sort of winey/cidery, but it tastes mostly like a light domestic lager. Nice mouthfeel for a low carb beer--for any light beer for that matter. Unlike its A-B and Latrobe counterparts, this stuff actually tastes somewhat like beer and does not nauseate.

Pour hard and fast and still get only about an inch of head that fades by the end of this sentence. Body is average joe yellow. I really tried to pick something up on the nose but got only a slight bit of malt and citrus. On first sip you get a striped naked big 3 style that has almost no resemblance to anything but water. If you need a cold crisp drink of tap water this beer is for you. Weird fuzzy waxy feel on the finish. Drinkable but not preferred.

The beer looks like water with yellow food coloring. The taste, or lack of it, is about the same.

There is a light carbonation the masks whatever flavor might happen to be present. It's like drinking an almost beer flavor alka seltzer.

Uggh. Maybe there is a so-called low carb out there that has a decent flavor, but I doubt it.

12 oz bottles at the Daytoner 500 and a recent sample sixer from the local rep. Pale yellow color, light. Faint white bubbly head. Smell was nearly non-existant. Some faint faint grainy and cardboard box shavings. Taste was dominated by watery, grainy flavors. Some butter bread tastes way back, finishes with a metallic artificial bitterness that streaks by. Wierd more than anything. Light bodied and flavorless. Lacks true beer qualities through and through. Tough to finish this one.

They had to give these away to sell them. I had a rebate to try it for free, but lost the rebate and never sent it in anyway. This is by far the lowest carbed beer I think I found, and it is pretty watery just for that. Woul'd buy this again, even if it was for free again.

Appearance: Medium golden in color, with a small but persistent snow-white head and moderate streams of small fast-rising bubbles. The lacing is scattered, but reasonably good.

Aroma: Slight hops character and mild cooked vegetable aroma; malt presence is very limited.

Taste: Opens with tart malt which carries throughout the taste, there is a minor herbal hop note toward the end of the taste. The finish is clean and somewhat dry.

Mouth feel: A bit thin with fizzy soda-like carbonation.

Drinkability/notes. Quite lacking in character, but thirst quenching, nonetheless. Well suited to refreshment while doing yardwork on sweltering summer days.

Presentation: Packages in a twelve ounce brown longneck bottle with a twistoff crown. Served in a standard pint tapglass.

The pour was very average for the style, a light urine yellow with little or no head te dissapated to even less. It did, however, leave a nice light white lace on top of the beer throughout the drink.

The smell was only a light hint of malt and skunk.

The drink started with a watery tone that continued throughout, all the way to the finish.

The simple fact is the low carb trend needs to end now! I'm tired of watered down monkey piss beers that I wouldn't even rate as poor lawnmower beers.

well, what can one say of this except low carb, means low taste. i drank it both out of a glass, and the bottle. I actuaually prefer it out of the bottle. It is similar to seltzer water. I would not drink this every day, nor buy it for that matter. However if it is all that is availible, by all means drink it.

I found this beer to be a very pretty offering when first poured...a nice medium golden colour with lively carbonation and a full finger head.
Then...
Aroma is nondescript, the body is weak and thin.
The taste is awful...flat, repugnant and lacking, and these are its good points.
However...
Even to the end, this brew retains its good looks and carbonation remains lively.
So, if in the market for a brew that looks good and tastes like crap, this is the brew for you.

Of all the new "low-carb" beers hitting the market I found Aspen Edge to be the least offensive. Very watered down and not much of an aroma. Very little color. Not much of anything really. Not a very good beer, but then again if your pussy enough to be drinking a low-carb beer to begin with, then that's probably what you want in a beer.
