Appearance: Pours a clear amber colored body with a beige head that declines to a ringlet and leaves an occasional flash of lacing around the glass

Smell: Smells malty and nutty at first, but the nose quickly fades to virtually nothing; What's with the disappearing aroma?

Taste: Starts out with a nice malty backbone that sticks around through the finish, but is joined by some pleasing moderate bitterness

Mouthfeel: A bit light and watery with moderate carbonation

Drinkability: A very drinkable beer; I should think this would be enjoyed by a lot of folks, both craft beer and macro enthusiasts

These have been around for awhile. Looks decent, a darker red and auburn appearance, so dark makes you suspect like Coors would put that much malt in a beer, but yeah. Aroma is the typical red malt blend of crisp cedar and peat moss. Totally lacking hop aroma.

Totally lacking hop aroma, lots of carbonation, caramel type of off flavor, I dunno what its all about, but its kind of a sweet sour bitter funk. These seem to have alcohol pretty evident. In a way, this at least met my expectations, I'm not a Coors guy, nor am I a 'winter' warmer/red beer guy, nor am I a red beer guy but under circumstances making the beer more like another style than a red itself (hoppy/wild).

Not terrible, just not impressive, but malty enough to warrant its existence beyond regular Coors.

Poured an amberish color into the old trusy pint shaker glass. Had a decent creamy head that has lasted over ten minutes; minimal lacing, though. Not much on the nose: malt was about it. Taste was not bad, though. Malt (leaning to the sweeter side) and a little caramel with no hop bitterness whatsover. Not bad; I'll seek out a bottle or two again next Winter but nothing special.

This is the 15940th bottle of 85248, for a brewery like MillerCoors, that is a somewhat limited batch. I will start with the good; this is a clear, crisp, well balanced seasonal beer with great taste of maltiness and carmel. The bad is that MillerCoors marketing is too scared to put their companies name on a good beer. I understand the marketing side of things, the average person will think they are getting a craft beer.

tasted blind with other "winter warmers" 2009 vintage.

pours an orangish hue with a quickly fading head.

aroma is quite non existant. slight fruity esters, but nothing distinct.

flavor is much like the aroma. not much going on.

well rounded body. decent for style.

this beer is boring. it needs a lot of color and character.

Single, twelve ounce bottle purchased from The Palisade Liquor Store in Jersey City...
First time I've ever seen this brew anywhere...
Pours a deep, dark, amber hue with slight carbonation...
Amber, grainy, malt-dominated aroma...
Hints of sweet caramel, candied sugars, and vanilla essences thrown in the mix...
Heavy on the malts, low on hops with a strong caramel, honey finish...
An interesting sample from Coors...
Although not the best representation of an Amber beer, I give the macro-giant points for trying with this one...

This is by far the best beer coors ever made. I use to get it on sale for $2.99 a six pack every Spring. Too bad they no longer make it. It is a brown color with a midling tan head. The nose has some nutty malts with light hops and Christmas spices. The taste has roasty malt bitter hops. Good flavor for a Coors product. Body is a little fizzy, but this drinks well.
